  1. Yes, I do presoak and have tested different soak times. They won’t stay standing with just wax. Using it on the side might work but then I think it would essentially be disabling the “burn out” feature as it would then burn all the way to the bottom of the jar. But that gives me some more ideas...thank you!!
  2. Thank you Sarah, yes, I use different fragrance oils and some just won't work with these wicks. I test a lot. I think they also burn a bit hotter perhaps and this affects the scent throw, especially as they burn further down. As far as the wick clip, a smaller one would work better but I haven't found many options out there. The other wooden wicks clip is about the same size, I am not sure how to cut these and not leave sharp edges. I was trying to decide if putting the clip on the edge and adhering it off center might be an option but wanted to see if there were any other ideas out there. Overall, it's a pretty subtle difference, but I'm a type A wanna-be personality so I will never be satisfied 🙂
  3. These are from Candle Cocoon in Monona, WI. They are all I use but are a bit limited in that it’s one size only and I have had some intermittent poor burns on the exact same candle formula, same pour, same batch of wicks so I’m trying to problem solve through it while at the same time working on different wax formulas to improve scent throw and minimize the soy smell as I really dislike that. I always have candles burning, needless to say.
  4. Hello, I’m new to this forum and have been using maple wave wicks in apothecary jars with GW464. I am now testing coconut/soy blends as well. Does anyone else use these wicks? I have a few questions to muddle through if anyone has experience with them. The one I’m trying to figure out today is if there is any other way to adhere these to the clip holder that doesn’t flatten one side of the s-wave. Seems like it should be a simple answer but I cannot figure it out. Thank you for any input:-) Brenda
  5. Hello, my name is Brenda, I live in Wisconsin currently and started down the rabbit hole of candles around six months ago, soaps around 1.5 years ago. I’m an artist turned nurse by profession and will be starting grad school in six months so not sure how much I’ll be able to research and test at that point. I do sell a bit and made this a business but mostly I love the creativity and challenge that comes with making candles. And I love to smell fragrances, which makes this a pleasure to do. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I really appreciate it.
