  1. It's super annoying too. Ugh. But, I think part of the problem might be the wick. I have some other candles curing with CW60 wicks, I've seen really good reviews on those but I have to wait another week - fingers crossed. If that's another disappointment it'll be wax melts at least until I run out of my 464.
  2. Hi all - so, I made a few soy candles using FO that was strong in my melts. I've noticed that after curing the candles for at least two weeks, the scent throw is almost non-existent. I'm using 8oz jelly jars and ECO10 wicks w/GW464. That being said, my house is drafty as heck, my windows are super old and it's down to a lovely 8 degrees out here. I've even noticed that my melts are not throwing off nearly as much scent as they used to when I started this venture back in October. I've been burning them for at least an hour if not more and can't seem to get the melt pool to fully reach the edge of the jars which is why I'm thinking maybe the room is too cold? Thanks! Karen
  3. That's what I figured - I have the 464 in my melter now and it's just as strong as the same scent of the 494 I was using a few days ago. I also seem to get more per pound w/the 464, 8 full shells as opposed to 6. Oh, and I use 2oz per pound of FO not 1 as I said before Karen
  4. It's Golden Wax Melt and Tart Soy Wax, it can't be used for candles. I don't have a problem with the 464 being too soft and no one has complained to me about it. I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions on the 494, if they think the throw is better, otherwise I'll just go back to the 464 since I can use it for candles too. Karen
  5. Hi all, I'm new to making wax melts and have even sold a few -yay me 😀. I've used both 464 and 494 and so far haven't seen much of a difference. The 464 is easier to work with and sets up nicer and after trying a blind scent test, I'm not sure if I can tell a difference in the hot or cold throw. Do any of you have any opinions? I use about 1 oz per pound of FO and have gotten good reviews from customers on the melts I made with 464. Thanks! Karen
