  1. Ok, I ordered some CD's and some Zinc wicks to try out....hopefully this does the trick! I left two test candles burning for hours with the LX wicks and the mushrooms are insane on them now!! These wicks definitely won't do.
  2. Thanks so much for the input. I'll try other wicks and can hopefully find one that works well!
  3. Hello all, I'm a bit of a perfectionist (yes, I know....candle making will drive me crazy) but I am having a hard time finding the perfect candle combo. I've switched from 464 wax because I just couldn't handle the look after it burns to 6006. While 6006 dries much smoother I'm having trouble wicking it. I seem to get mushrooms on a lot of different sized wicks and that's just another imperfection I can't handle! Haha. I used a variety of sizes of the LX series and got mushrooms with all of them. Does anyone have any suggestions on wicks to use on an 8oz straight sided jar with parasoy 6006? Unfortunately, I'm just starting out my business and don't have a huge budget to keep trying tons of different wicks, waxes and fragrances! I'm really trying to get this right. I also didn't get as much HT as I was expecting with this wax. I did 1oz fragrance to 1lbs wax...... Any help is much appreciated...Thank you!
  4. Thank you for your input. I think it bothers me more than anyone haha
  5. Shoot. Have you noticed that customers are bothered by this appearance?
  6. Thank you so much! Another questions.....my 464 is drying like this after burning. Is there any way I can improve how it dries as it's not very appealing for customers? *I was just testing this fragrance in the tin, but I would stick with using the 8 oz jars.
  7. I've been purchasing from CandleScience- Fragrance from there, GB 464, Eco 12 wick. I'm finding the hot throw isn't very strong for a lot of the scents and unfortunately the wax dries with a lot of bubbles/pockets after burning.
  8. Hi everyone, new candle maker here! I would love to get your opinions on wax's and wick's. I've read through a lot of the forums already and can't seem to find the answers I'm looking for. Basically I'd love to stay away from Paraffin if possible but soy is not giving me the hot throw I'd like. With my brand I do want to strive for a very good hot throw. Can you please let me know what wax and wick combo you've found best for a mostly natural, great hot throw candle? I'm using 8oz, straight sided, glass jars with my candles. Thank you!
