  4. hey all ! one of the markets I will be selling at are having themed days such as strawberry festival, peach day, red white and blueberry, apple festival, haunted (halloween) and thanksgiving market. I was wondering if anyone has a favorite scent they use and sells well that goes along with any of the above themes. thanks in advance!

    Wax tarts

I think I’ll use C3 with the USA . C3 is the current wax I use . As far as everything else goes , I just melt the wax and add in my dyes and fragrances as usual correct ? I saw somewhere to pour around 150-155 for tarts
  6. I hadn’t even thought of going to other stores to see what they’ve done ! Appreciate it !
  7. That’s a good idea ! Thanks !!

    Wax tarts

do I need a special wax to make wax tarts with ? I remember seeing something about using a special wax, but I can no longer find the source.
  9. Hi all, So I’ve registered my LLC with my state and gotten all my business licenses and tax permits. I am going to start selling at some local markets around me. What would be some good ideas to display my candles? I can’t really think of anything besides just putting them on the table. Any ideas are welcome, thank you!
  10. I will pour at 160 with my next batch and see if it works for me.
  11. up late making some valentines day candles !

  13. I use a presto pot I got on eBay, it’s amazing. Once my wax is heated up to 185 I leave it in the pot and mix in my color (for two minutes) and then I mix my FO in while it is in the pot still. by this time my wax is still in the 175-180 range. once I’ve mixed in my FO I pour into my pouring pots. https://www.ebay.com/itm/PRESTO-POT-8lb-WAX-MELTER-LIFETIME-WARRANTY-FREE-SHIPPING/182567297772 (they have different sizes available)
  14. try flaming candle ! excellent shipping prices with ups. I am only 20 mins away from the warehouse so that May be why but you should check
  15. hopefully I can post this here. do you guys cure with lids or no lids? my first batches I was curing without lids and then I saw that for storage reasons people cured with lids on and believed it had no effect on their scent throws. since then I’ve been curing with my lids on but am paranoid that it is making my throws weaker. is this possible? thanks!
  16. I made my first and second batches using the C3 wax and I am sooo happy that I do not have any more sink holes! I poured my first batch at 107 and got no sink holes, some frosting but not bad, and no wet spots. My second batch I poured at 114 and 116 and 114 had no sink holes, no frosting, no wet spots. 116 had minimal frosting and one candle had mini champagne bubbles. I will be pouring at 114. I used a 6% fragrance load with my first batch and cold throw is pretty absent (lavender mint fo) my second batch has a much stronger cold throw but it is also a stronger scent. I still used 6% fragrance load. going to wait 2 wks before I test burn.
  17. @kandlekrazy what fragrance load do you use ? I’ve seen conflicting amounts, also I know it depends on FO but do you have a general fragrance load
  18. @TallTayl nope it’s right before it starts to slush
  19. I just made 150 lbs worth of candles with this wax. And close to my last batch I found the perfect pouring temperature for me was 107 degrees. No sink holes. I started pouring at 135 degrees and nothing but sinkholes. I slowly worked my way down batch after batch.
  20. Hi all, I’m fairly new to making candles. I bought 150 lbs of GW 444 and have used them all. Friends and family are happy with them. However, I am switching to C3 since Ive seen that it’s more of a true one pour . I was getting a lot of sink holes in the 444 unless I poured at lower than 107, I was initially pouring at 135 and worked my way down. Ive read up on the C3 wax and am concluding to heat to 185, add my FO (haven’t decided my % since I’m seeing anywhere between 6-8.5%) and pour at 125. I got the Premier 775 wicks since my container are 4” in diameter. Does anyone have any suggestions for me with this wax? Thank you
