  1. I would add some stearic to the 464 try 1-2 per cent for the molded wax. See how that works.
  2. Some of those kits are kind of vague. But follow the instructions and try making some candles with the kit. You will learn procedure. Candle Science has good tutorials. You tube has several candle making tutorials of various degrees of good to terrible. Also when you post here, you need to give us name of wax you are working with (kits may not include name of wax and wick types) Parrafin candles and soy candle burn differently.
  3. This is the scariest candle making video. So many wrongs. A wrong every 10 seconds.
  4. Above TT can be helpful, or mix with another oil as many have solvent/emulsifiers in them that can help.
  5. For those troubly scents, try blending it with a well behaver. So if you take that scent blend it 75:25, or 50:50 see if it helps. I do that with Candle Science fragrances, a bunch make me agitated hahaha.
  6. There are no rules. Blend to how you like it and go from there. Do a test candle, and if it’s not to your liking burning redo the scent ratios.
  7. I have not tried this wax, but do not discount it completely. Waxes like this are good to add to soften other waxes. For example I would take this wax and blend with c3 because it is harder to burn. I would use it to increase adhesion. For tarts I would use it to soften up a pillar blend to make it melt easier. Regarding Candle Science waxes. They give them then take them away with everything and that makes me insane.
  8. Above 28oz SFIC Melt and Pour Soap Base Sample Set - Detergent Free (SLS free)
  9. Here are some soap samples you could try https://www.etsy.com/listing/606742031/28oz-sfic-melt-and-pour-soap-base-sample?gpla=1&gao=1&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_us_a-craft_supplies_and_tools-beauty_supplies-soap_supplies-soap_bases&utm_custom1=_k_CjwKCAjw77WVBhBuEiwAJ-YoJBcL9GcjvsiEocv6WBz-GqUT-Dcs7rfIEs2ExckINF59NWrZHEJ3KRoCjEMQAvD_BwE_k_&utm_content=go_12573075997_120353202940_507851739109_pla-296986343250_c__606742031_562642817&utm_custom2=12573075997&gclid=CjwKCAjw77WVBhBuEiwAJ-YoJBcL9GcjvsiEocv6WBz-GqUT-Dcs7rfIEs2ExckINF59NWrZHEJ3KRoCjEMQAvD_BwE
  10. This true what TT says about water! For example my studio water it’s impossible to rinse soap off my hands but my home well water same soap rinses off completely. Again buy some sample blocks and see how you like them. Detergent free does not always mean better feeling.
  11. You can also type in search bar in the forum Millenium or any other wax for posts
  12. Go here it will give you a starting point for almost every wax combination, and bare waxes. https://www.candlescience.com/learning/wick-guide/ Paraffins need smaller wicks, then up it for parasoy, largest wicks soy, c3 highest soy wick size.
  13. But you see I’m not a fan of C3 anymore, but now a fan of other soy waxes. So you have to get samples and test. I would figure out what you want from candle first, the qualities. So for example you mentioned robust in heat yes? Then appearance before burn, appearance after burn, adhesion, cold throw etc. Then you can whittle down. Everyone on this forum likes something different. What appeals to some other may hate with a passion. I still believe the best way to sort it out is to read all the post here and buy sample waxes. TT mentioned Clarus, I didn’t like it so there you Plenty here want a straight up wax preblended, others want to blend.
  14. Get some samples and test. People can make recommendations but you need to see for yourself. The best way I learned about waxes is working with waxes and testing.
  15. One person does not determine scent throw. Some people have less scent detection than other people. Give candle to another person.
  16. If its tunneling, then you need to go up a size BUT make sure you do a test burn minimum 2.5 hours before moving on to new wick with a wax. You may need to change wicks with your wax. Eco doesn't work with all waxes, and its very limited with sizes compared to CD, CDN etc.
  17. You will still have to test several scents to make sure wax performs with the addition. That’s why I like making own wax blend, and then adjusting
  18. https://www.calculator.net/percent-calculator.html Handy for calculating recipes https://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/calculators/Batch_Size_Calculator.aspx All the calculators https://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/handmade101/learn-to-make-articles/calculators-charts-tools.aspx There are many of these calculators online now and make formulating easy.
  19. Karen, There are percentage calculators online that will do ounces and grams. Also use the calculators on wholesale supplies plus, others sites have them as well. Very helpful for everything. I use them all the time but haha also ask Alexa
  20. Hmm actually I mentioned two waxes that might work. Palm container wax maybe good for you. Holds up in crafts fairs, you can color it and jars will stand out in a show environment. As Busy Bee said, I haven’t met a wax that does not require something. My new wax combo is three waxes which give me what I want in a wax. It’s what your requirements are, so for example if you don’t mind ugly tops after burning you can use many soy waxes. Do you want all natural. You have to define that, soy, palm, veggies waxes. You get my drift. Also regarding coconut, I tested many preblends and my own and honestly its not the holy grail and gave waxes more of an issue that anything positive. I would get 1-5 pound samples and test and see what you like.
  21. Coco paraffin blends not always available. They can be very soft for example the IGI blend which has to be blended if you plan on selling outside. If you want no fail I would go with tins, as you wont have to worry about adhesion with fluctuations in temp. I would some sample waxes. Some waxes that might work for you IGI Victory blend, Accusoy 10. These are more robust than 6006 which is super soft. Get sample wick packs CD, CDN, LX can work in parasoy.
  22. Sorry fo’s can eat through coated lining
  23. Regarding these preblends. My theory is use the most popular in stock waxes to make a parasoy. More suppliers will carry than let’s say some of the coco blends etc. None of the waxes are good on their own, all have issues.
  24. Although I think they are cute, certain fo’s those with vanilla and almond will eat through those. Besides which if not seamless they will leak. Even coated fo’s can eat through coating.
  25. It’s really crazy. I used to make a sunflower soap because it was cheaper than olive, due to Ukrainian situation sunflower is going to be unavailable or super expensive for whatever stock is left
