  1. I would definitely write a response to the company. I did. WSP prices are nuts. I rarely rarely order from them and the business model of “free shipping” and then handling fee is ridiculous.
  2. Also i never had issue with Natures Garden, they were one of the fastest shipping companies. Me thinks they bit off more they can chew acquiring these companies. Additionally if you have that much buying power, prices should be cheaper not more expensive!
  3. Just saw that about Flaming Candle. I love the part about raising prices.
  4. I saw no great improvement over 464 and it’s more expensive. Test candle I did frosted very quickly.
  5. I had this issue last year. It was due to wet wax I received in winter time. Reordered in Spring no issues.
  6. I didn’t even make family holiday soap because pricing is bonkers. I would hate to be a food manufacturer as cheaper oils like sunflower are astronomical because of the Ukraine. Crazy.
  7. I feel sorry for soap makers. Base oils went insane
  8. When fractionated coconut oil goes from 18.00 to 40.00. Changing that ingredient. I do feel there is price gouging going on. Soapers choice on some base oils.
  9. Palm wax granules container, you must heat this was up high and not overload it with fo.
  10. The IGI 6046 if you like 4627 is nicer in IMHO. You can get a good candle with adding a small amount of palm. Firms it right up. Try it. Takes color very well. You can try the sp additive but it wasn’t my fav. Easier just using some palm.
  11. Try water discount, dehumidifier even try if you have a food dehydrator. I have used that in one place I lived. Works, don’t laugh. I’m not a super soaker but my discount is 24% in soap calc. I never use full water unless I have a known soap on a stick fragrance.
  12. If you paraffin candles but want to use coconut for marketing, try IGI 6046. It’s very soft. Add a little palm and it firms right up. Brilliant white. You can blend with it. It’s at Aztec and some other places.
  13. I am surprised they can trademark city names as the cities I am sure have already done so. They could trademark Homesick Atlanta Candle as a phrase.
  14. I love them! Trying to conquer making them and wicking them. Still not sure how to burn as I was not a user of votive. Just jar candles and tea lights.
  15. Dropping wick in? I burned one tonight and loved the instant container candle effect. Will see how silicone works. I have paraffin and parasoy waxes to play with.
  16. I was thinking about doing votives but to be honest I have no idea how they should melt. Should I wick so they melt across or burn like a pillar down with a shell. I tried a parasoy pillar with pins and metal molds but had the worst time getting the wick pins out even with spraying with Cyclomethicone. Would I have better luck just going for paraffin? Anyway ordered a silicone baking mold that has similar dimensions thinking it might make process easier. And I thought these would be easy peasy.
  17. Actually I don’t mind 464. I can do many types of formulas with it. I used C3 for a long time and it has great cold throw but hated the circle crack with a passion and did’nt like any of the parasoy blends I did with it. C3 and 464 are available many places which is a plus. Yikes the price on that Ecosoya wax is nuts. 42 dollars for 11 pounds? Honestly still looking for the perfect wax blend.
  18. Problend house wax. Very soft with good adhesion. Take small wicks. C3 much much harder. Problend smooth top before band after, C3 not so.
  19. Some of the stick blenders the bottom part is deeper on some models and can hold bubbles, and depending on design can change things up. I have a mueller one right now and it loves to suction cup itself to the bottom of mixing containers.
  20. It’s funny how that works. For example not all silicone soap and candle molds demold the same. Some are very sticky and then others instant smooth release!
  21. That looks perfect. What did you do different?
  22. Stick blender bubble and thickish batter. You can see the bubbles. Try stick blending briefly burb batter and pour thinner.
  23. I have tried a million waxes. This one has good adhesion and ease. You have to use smallish wicks. Try it.
  24. Hmmm. You know i did all molded soaps for holidays last year and had no issues with bubbly look. Could be just cut soaps issue. Do another small test wait a day longer then cut, let rest and see if appearance improves. Sometimes fresh is different looked from settle with product things.
