    Very Vanilla, Clean Cotton, Hansel & Gretel's House and Cranberry Marmalade all do really well in 4045H. Has anyone tried their Dragon's Blood? Sounds interesting!

    Thanks guys! This is the first time I've made mottles without stearic, and was pretty happy with how they turned out. It's also good to hear I'm not the only one that's camera challenged! Thanks Jo! :smiley2:

    Made with 4045H and scented with Candlewic's Bayberry. They look like they're leaning in the pics, but I think it's just the angle I took the photo on. Thanks for looking! :smiley2:

    I thought they were one and the same, too. A natural assumption would be that the harder the wax, the higher the melt point. After reading your explanation though Top, it's all starting to make sense. Slowly but surely!

    I think you may be right Top, because even with the addition of stearic AND Micro 180... it still melted. I think I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and buy some hurricane wax. The pics below were taken an hour and a half after lighting the tealight.

    I had no idea that it was stearic that increased hardness - all this time I thought it was vybar! I have plenty of stearic so I'll give it a shot, and if there's still melting, will order some clear crystals. Thanks guys!

    I haven't, Candybee. I have about 10,000 slabs of the 4045H, so was hoping I could use that. I'll play around with it a little more, maybe adding some Vybar, and see what happens. Thanks!

    Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this? Vybar 103 maybe? I tried my hand at making a forever pillar yesterday... and failed miserably! It looked wonderful, and I was so proud of my first attempt... but after about an hour of the tealight burning, the wax around the votive holder began to melt, the side cracked, and wax leaked out the side. It was a chunk candle - chunks made with 4045H and overpour made with 4045H with a little (1/2 TBLSP P/P?) Micro 180. Any help is very much appreciated! :smiley2:

    What a wonderful idea! I was having problems with my wicks not staying upright too, and I think this could be the solution. Thanks Candybee! :smiley2:

    :highfive: SKane, I have only ever made pillars, so cannot offer any helpful advice as far as container waxes and wicks go, but I wanted to welcome you to the Board, and I wish you all the very best of luck!

    I used to shave or cut from dye blocks, but could never duplicate the color perfectly. I now use the dye chips from Candlescience (like Stella mentioned - Reddig-Glo), which are wonderful - one chip per pound of wax and you'll have the same color every time. Because they're diamond shaped, they're also easy to cut in half if you need a lighter color, and are very reasonably priced. :smiley2:

    Another vote for Mistletoe from CS, but my favorites have to be Tinsel and Winter Garden from Nature's Garden. Both are gorgeous scents, and very strong in 4045H.

    Thanks Candlebuddy. I didn't realize that there was a different section with descriptions, I was only looking at the order page. His prices are amazing, and although I'm not a big lover of anything with cinnamon, I might have to give it a try. Thanks again!

    I was just looking at Blue Christmas from TCS, Candlebuddy... but there's no scent description. How would you describe it? Sounds like it might be a clean/crisp scent? TIA!
