I've been making B&B products since 2005. Took a break for a year when we moved here and am slowly starting back up again.

  1. How many of each product (Bath & Body) do you take to sell? How many scents?
  2. I'm thinking you wouldn't need it for glycerin but I would add it with the aloe. Not really sure on that though..... but I wanted to ask you where you got your lids for your Cocoa/Shea buter lotion. Would you mind sharing that with me? I had some once and now I can't find them anywhere
  3. I only make mine in one scent (pumpkin) so I make a large batch and keep them in the fridge.
  4. I have done them. I pass out brief surveys that ask which scents are their favs, what skin conditions/probs they have if any, what is their fav B&B product, etc.....it also gives me their full name, address, and phone # and everyone who fills it out will get a free sample at the end. I pass around my products individually while I speak about them.....they can try it, sniff it, ask questions about it, etc. I bring TONS of everything with me- including a couple gift baskets. I set it all up on a display table. I have brochures with prices and order forms. I also offer a discount or free sample to anyone who brings a friend with them. Hope that helps.
  5. Here's one I found..... http://www.athomewitharista.com/tip.php?tipid=26&PHPSESSID=a4286af8a1f022b2cdeaf72e8ab3af32 I have another recipe that calls for Eucalyptus oil, camphor gum, etc. but I can't find it right now. I think you'll be able to find it if you do a search for "tiger Balm".....
  6. I'm not sure, but I think I read somewhere that vitamin E and Shea butter are natural sun protectors. ? ...I've been wanting to make a lip balm with sunscreen in it, so let us know if you find anything.
  7. Thanks! Good idea trying it with cucumber too. i'm getting some!
  8. wow! those are so neat! I don't think it looks like too much coloring. Did you use a liquid colorant? Is it hard to keep the fish from floating to the top or do you use something to anchor them in there? Great job!
  9. This is just butters and oils? no water? It looks so....CREAMY! I love it! i'll have to check out that scent sometime.
  10. Well what does it smell like? You have me curious! Does it smell like cucumber melon? I like to hear about good choices for butters. I tried Sweet Pea in a mango belly balm recipe and it smells disgusting....almost like it had a weird mix with the mango and it made it smell real tart and - well just gross. Lemon was gross in it too. Pumpkin and lovespell were good, and I'd like to try it with Pink sugar, but I hate to waste my favorite scents if it doesn't work right!
  11. Thanks everyone! .....I only over-filled it for the picture "effects"....I didn't fill the rest of them that high. If you haven't tried it with pumpkin, then do! I used "pumpkin pie spice" from Tony's....it's perfect for a scrub-sooooo yummy:cool2:. I'm gonna try a minty foot scrub next. Scrubs are fun...I like doing these as much as lotions. I hate doing lip balms- they never work right for me or come out the right flavor.
  12. Wow, great job!!!! Very impressive packaging/labeling:cool2:
  13. I just wanted to say THANKS again for your help with the scrub the other day.....it worked much better this time! At first I tried just adding more oils- without heating so the sugar wouldn't melt, and that worked ok I think, but re-formulating with a better balance of oils to butters worked even better. My friends were very happy with it:cool2:.
  14. Bunny you are always such a great help- thanks so much! I was trying to make this in a pumpkin scent for my friend's mom. I found a recipe and changed it a bit to use what I had on hand. I really wasn't sure how much ewax to use, and just didn't want too much in there. I'll try adding more soft oils & ewax and see what happens.....or I'll just use it on my feet or something. Thanks again for your corrections to the recipe;). I've got to start taking a harder look at my math I suppose:wink2:.
  15. Forgive me if this has been answered before- I did a search and couldn't come up with much. I tried a new sugar scrub recipe and it felt perfect last night- I was all proud of myself....but now today it's really HARD!!!! Did I use too much e-wax? Do I have to throw it away or is there a way to make it slushy/creamy again? Do I just add more oils or is it too late? Here is the recipe I used: 1 cup Dark brown sugar 1 cup Turbinado sugar 2 fl oz. coconut oil (76 degree) 1 oz Avocado & Jojoba blend oil 5 oz Shea Butter 3 oz Mango Butter .5 oz E-wax .25 oz Optiphen preserv. 60 drops FO Thanks in advance!
