  1. Thanks for replying Janette! I have noticed the discoloring on blueberry, lilac, cinnamon(red), and light pink rose scented votives. Maybe I should use a different UV, one that you don't have to add A to B?
  2. I am lookig for recipes that I can use to make lotions and soaps for my gardening customers. Something that I can give as gifts and later sell. Does anyone have any great recipes they are willing to share? Thanks for any help Karissa
  3. I have been using UV from Candlewic where you need to add A & B to the wax to prevent discoloration. I have added it according to their specifications, my candles are not in a lighted area, but I have too many candles that are discoloring and I don't have a clue what I should be doing. I haven't read where anyone else seems to have this problem. Somebody please help me figure out what to do! Thanks, you guys are really great at helping us learn. Karissa
  4. Are the scents from just scents as good as the scents from peaks?
  5. Finally started making candles in an 8 ounce jelly jar. So this is my first test burn. I have 4 jars, I used 3/4 J223 and 1/4 6228. I got some sample wicks from wick it and I used one of each 740, 745, 750, 755. They have burned for 2 hours so far. The 740 is about 1/2" from the sides and looks good, the 745 is almost to the sides of the jar. The 750 and 755 seems to have a much deeper burn and not as much to the sides. Does it sound like the 740 is the best choice? Also the 750 girgled for 5 seconds and then a hole in the center by the wick opened up, what is that from? Thanks. Karissa
  6. I ordered some clear plastic votive, tealight, and tart boxes from sunshine plastic. I'm not sure if I should put a piece of cardstock paper between the 2 rows of tealights or not. I also can't decide if the tarts look better alone in the box or with a bottom liner. Can I have some of your ideas as to what you think looks best? Thanks for all the posts, it is so nice to read through all of them! Karissa
  7. you could check out finehomedisplays.com I saw alot of pie stands there.
  8. I am pretty new to the board and wanted to get some advice. A couple weeks ago I made some tealight using J223, I use tealight wicks that I got from Candlewic 28-24z. When I burned them, it seemed like the flame was not a big as it is with some I have bought in the store. I really would like to mix maybe alittle votive wax with the J223 so it might help with the burning part. Maybe 3/4 to 1/4. Am I way off in my thinking? TIA Thanks Karissa
  9. I went to Harbor Freight website and the impulse sealer isn't too expensive, so is the $19.99 one, the best one to get? Also, do they have the polyeurethene bags or is there another source for them? Thanks for all this good info! Karissa
  10. I am new to the candletech board, so Hello everyone! I bought some smooth sided 8 oz. jelly jars to use, and had some soy 125, but it seems that most people use ezsoy. I got the soy 125 because the supplier was close to me and I thought i would try it. I am thinking of using a rrd29 wick. Does that sound like a good place to start? Karissa
  11. I have been making scented tealight and it is seems so messy. I wanted to order a polyeurethene tealight mold from candlewic and wanted to know if anyone has one and some feedback on it. Thanks Karissa
  12. Do you just use shrink wrap or does anyone use the impulse sealer? Thanks, Karissa
