I actually use that "jiffy Wicker" from gen wax and it sloved the problem for me. It's simpler and less messy. The rubber washer does ware out after two or three uses, and wax drips out (my cheat is to punch a hole just to the side of the hole in the middle and use again, this way I can get 6 or so uses from one rubber washer) but gen wax does sell replacements. I like it:)

Just got a heart shaped plastic mold from General Wax and Candles. The sticker just says "small flat heart mold". It's one piece and measures about 3.5 long and 3.75" wide. I'll probably use igi 4625. Anyone ever work with anything that sounds like this? Is the wicking the same as with aluminum mold that I'm used to working with? Thanks Scott

Tangerine, I just made a cinnamon buns at 6% in soy. It tested very well and my tester has actually requested more. So it sounds like a hit.

Just got some samples of wick your wax fo. They came in, what I assume are half ounce bottles and say to use 3 - 5 % in wax. I'm wondering if any of You have experience(s) with this brand that you'd care to share. Thanks

I have so many questions about testing my candles that I don't know where to start. I've tried searching for other threads, on the subject but I couldn't find anything. If anyone could share your experience/knowledge It would be greatly appreciated. Realizing the above question is so very vague, so I edit to provide clarity and give some indication of the type of questions I have. -Do you make the whole batch of wax and make one test candle? -If you're, then not happy with the results what do you do with the batch? -I've read something about making the test wickless, how does that work? Thanks to all the wonderful dvice I've recieved here my early attempts at pillars are going (imo) great. IGI 4625 experimenting with flt brd 24, 30, 36. The one area that gives me trouble is topping off the dip. Im punching relief holes twice usually twice in the process. The finished product, however, has the visible signs of added wax, in this case a ring around the top of the candle. using a cookie sheet i've leveled the top off nicely but the ring is still there. suggestions as what I can do........please?
