  1. thanks guys and gals for your ideas on this carol i will have to try the foil wrap
  2. if you look on aromahaven under their incense link it says place your sticks/cones and fo/dpg mix in a glass or HDPE container. I could be having a brain freeze but the hdpe container is what is confusing me.:undecided
  3. but they say to put the fo and dpg in the polyeth to soak. I thought i read/heard that the polyeth sucks out the scent so why would you use that as your container? do any of you sell the 19" sticks? what equation do you follow for incense pricing? TIA
  4. if polyethene (sp?) is bad for scented products why do they say to soak incense in it? is anyone willing to share how they soak their incense? does anyone sell the 19 inch sticks? how do you figure cost for your sticks? thank you all very much for your help as always
  5. looking for silver color to used as the whole not just the outer layer as in cut n curl any idesa or suggestions? thanks
  6. thanks for the replies. where is the best place to order bears? or do you buy out the dollar store? i found bears that are 4 inch (sitting) at my local dollar store. i am not really rural but the closest "big" city is Pittsburgh which is 35 minutes or so. I have not seen these here anywhere so figured new idea:cheesy2: why not try it?
  7. I did a search on these and came up with lots of instructions on how to do them my question is how do you come up with price? the same as with candles cost x3 or is there another equation? And with packaging some said they put something under them then wrap in cello with a bow what do you recommend to put under? What about using a doll stand or something like that? TIA for input as always!

  15. Ok I know that each fo has different throws but what i am trying to find out is the wick is the biggest culprit in hot throw right? Poured a cucumber melon from peaks with their straight paraffin (igi 1343) with 1/4 tsp vybar to one lb with .5oz fo wonderfull cold throw absolutely NO hot throw. Had run out of wicks so had to use wicks from Joann's doesn't say on the package what size they are other than length and zinc wire core w/ 15mm clip? Which do you prefer primed wicks or wick by the roll? pros and cons what are the pros and cons to wick pins for pillar candles? can you use them with the wick by the roll or just primed wicks? Trying to get all the bugs worked out but everytime i think gone another one pops up...lol Thanks for your input
  16. Easy Japes. I don't think that Dat meant it the way you took it. But just trying to let you know that trial and error is the only way that YOUR candles are going to be the best they can be. This board is full of awesome people full of all kinds of info but what works for one doesn't work for all. Try your kit make LOTS of notes and if something doesn't work they way you thought it should this IS the place to get help. Welcome to the Board!!!
  17. Please help. I poured a pillar last night nothing different about it then when i went to take it out of the mold this morning the wick pulled right out of it. how do i get it out of the mold now? and how do i rewick it? Thanks for your help! Candi

Just didn't want you to think i was not gratefull for your input :embarasse . Thank you as always for your knowledge and valuable input.
  24. stupid question time. Figured i would rather look like an idiot than hurt someone. someone who may (or may not) know what they are talking about told me that it is not necessary to tab all pillar and container candles? Just measure the correct length center and pour around it. That just din't sound fire safe. Can anyone tell me yes or no? Thanks for your help Candi
