Hello All, I started my luxury home & body business in June of 2013. One one hand, our business has be very well received by everyone who has tried our products. The only issue with this is we have very limited exposure given that we are an online shop. I did a Christmas Craft Show at a local downtown shop with many other vendors. Not many people showed up and only two vendors sold anything. Luckily I was one of them - and I actually sold to EVERYONE who took a sample or came to our booth. Only the people who didn't stop walked away empty-handed. I was so proud of our first show and decided we HAD to do more to get our product out there. To try and help that problem, I took advantage of the opportunity to open a booth in our local antique mall. It has a monthly booth rent of about $135. I figured all I needed to do was really get the product in front of people...last month was our first month, and we only sold $45 all month. Eight days into this month and we still haven't sold any product. The antique mall is also sort of new so I'm hoping that's what it is....but now I find myself wondering if I'm doing the right things to make my business a success. We have a Facebook page, with 150+ likes, but it gets little to no response when I post. I'm even holding a 40% off sale for the seasonal items on my site - it will be over in 2 days and once again...nothing. I've started putting things together to start doing home parties and I'm considering more craft shows as well. My question to y'all is...what is the BEST advice you can give me as a new business owner in order to properly grow my business? Is there anything you feel I could be doing differently? Thanks SO MUCH in advance!
