Has anyone tried this? Looking for honest reviews. Is this just another form of 464 like the Freedom soy bead?

CAL CANDLE SUPPLY #12 WAX BLEND
PINKT replied to Mrs. Stoner's topic in Vegetable Wax & Beeswax Candle Making
I LOVE this wax!! Someone just told me (they contacted Cal Candle) that this wax is 50% soy 25% palm and 25% paraffin. -
UPDATE! Eric from CCS says their #11 Coco Bright is NOT from Accu-Blend, however that doesn't mean that the supplier he's getting it from isn't getting it from Accu-Blend..

When I first tried this wax a few months ago, I used 8% fragrance and zinc 51-32-18 in a large apothecary jar and it was a beautiful burn and great hot throw.. now, trying this wax again, I'm finding the zinc 51 isn't hot enough, but the zinc 60 is too big.. have tried CD and LX ..and I think the CD burn too hot .. been making candles for 12 years so I know what to look for in wicking, I guess I'm just super used to wicking coconut waxes and to me this wax is very similar.. I did try the fragrance at 10% but wow, the wax was getting very dark and the burn was horrible.. I'm going to try 6% and see how that does.. I'm trying to wick a 24oz Mason jar.. What % fragrance do you use and what jar/wick has worked for you?

According to IGI... The 6098 Victory Blend has a melt point of 124°.. I'm having the worst time wicking this ...HELP!!
-
No worse than coconut waxes and I have never had an issue with them melting in transit
-
I'm currently testing the IGI 6098 and it's FAR SUPERIOR to the horrid 6006.. It's beautiful and creamy and at 8% it throws like crazy. It acts very similar to coconut waxes and heats to high temps- 200°.. It's considered a luxury parasoy and I believe it has more soy than paraffin or maybe 50/50

Who manufactures Coconut 83 and what is really in it?
PINKT replied to Nour's topic in Coconut Wax Candles
I'm really sorry! I began using the 83 in 2010 and it was so different and so much better than it is now.. even 6-7 years ago it was the same great wax, but I could tell immediately that it had changed 5 years ago and AccuBlend should have updated the info on the website. I hope everything works out for you! -
Hi all! Anyone currently using the IGI 6098? This is a luxury parasoy and it's fabulous! Just curious what wicks you find are the best in this wax. Candle and Supplies suggests CD/CDN. I'm trying those now.

Who manufactures Coconut 83 and what is really in it?
PINKT replied to Nour's topic in Coconut Wax Candles
All the suppliers of Coconut 83 from AccuBlend were given the same info, so it's not Cal Candles fault or any of the other MANY suppliers of this wax.. I have contacted Cal Candle and many of the other suppliers so hopefully they will all get their websites updated with the proper info. This is AB's fault.. they haven't updated their wax info sheets on their website in many years. -

PINKT replied to Nour's topic in Coconut Wax Candles
UPDATE!!! Accu-Blend is under new management, and are being forthcoming now.. In my previous post I mentioned 4 years but it's actually been more like 6 when I spoke with Henry who was the Head honcho at the time.. AT THAT TIME the 83 WAS a blend of coconut, soy, apricot and palm. The formula changed about 5 years ago into what it is today - COCONUT, PALM, food grade MINERAL OIL and food grade PARAFFIN. I KNEW immediately that the wax was different, and I HATE IT. Just wanted to let all the 83 users know this. Also, the coconut 83 sold at Virginia Candle Supply is NOT made by AccuBlend. -
I recently discovered this wax and love it!! I use 8% and zinc wicks and the hot throw is OUTSTANDING! It is very similar to coconut waxes in the way it performs and the heating/pouring directions. This wax is FAR SUPERIOR than the AWFUL 6006

COCONUT 86 from VCS (Virginia Candle Supply)
PINKT replied to PINKT's topic in Vegetable Wax & Beeswax Candle Making
I have no idea who makes the Coconut 86 and VCS won't tell me.. I've asked -
Just an FYI- Candles and Supplies will no longer be selling their COCONUT CONTAINER SLAB which was coconut/soy/rice bran/ beeswax. This wax was mfg by Calwax and was their EC26 with rice bran and beeswax added. Calwax has said they can no longer make this wax which is a huge bummer. Candles and Supplies will be selling the EC26 ( coconut/soy/small amount of paraffin) in it's place

PINKT replied to Nour's topic in Coconut Wax Candles
I spoke to the owner of Accu-Blend about 4 years ago- it has since been sold to an Oriental group- he told me the Coconut 83 was a blend of coconut, soy, apricot oil and palm.. I have recently spoken to someone at Accu-Blend who confirmed this. The new Coconut 84X made by Accu-Blend is coconut/ beeswax blend. This is all they will say.. I feel it's the coconut 83 minus the palm with beeswax added.I was told that it's the same wax as the STONE CANDLES coconut wax which is coconut, soy, apricot oil and beeswax. -
This thread was years ago, but interested whether anyone is using the IGI 6098 currently? I am and it's wonderful! The ht at 8% is amazing with zinc wicks
-
Just found out that Coco Bright is Accu-Blend Hybrid #11
-
Has anyone used this wax? I called Accu-Blend and was told that they supply Stone with this wax and that it was the same wax as their COCONUT84X.. I think it's a little different . I have both waxes and the Stone wax is always cloudy when melted regardless how high I melt the wax. The coconut 84x is clear. I have added extra beeswax to the Stone wax and the ht is amazing but the wicking isn't going well.. I think I will decrease the amount of beeswax.. ( I'm a blender, I never use any wax straight as it comes)
-
This wax, Aztec's new wax, is actually made by Blended Waxes, not Lab & Co.. it is their BW 917 and the tart blend is Blended Waxes Bw923
-
I made a few testers... this wax looks and smells just like Millenium Soy to me, it comes in little beads... It's definitely mostly soy .I don't have the patience to wait for the wax to cool to 140 before I pour so I won't be using it as a stand alone wax, I would blend it.. the HT and CT are both really good... I burned a tester after 4 day cure and it was good and strong.. I did 10% fragrance- heated the wax to 190 added scent, stirred about 30 secs and poured. It's great on it's own, but it doesn't look pretty.
-
the WW (Lab and Co) waxes are made by Calwax.. the Virgin coconut soy is their EC26 and the coco/apricot is their Ceda Serica. The new Aztec wax ( soy/coconut/bee) is in bead form.
-
I just received my samples- I bought 2 one pound bags.. Honestly, it looks and smells exactly like Millenium Soy. Once melted it is a dark yellow color. I made2 test candles- the first tester, I heated the wax to 180° added scent, stirred about 30 secs and poured. The other tester I heated the wax to 190, added scent, stirred about 30 secs then poured. I used 10% fragrance in each one.. I'll test burn in a few days, curious what wicks will be the best. I'll start with CD.

yes it is.. the coco apricot wax is available at 3 places and it is all the same CEDA SERICA wax made by Calwax... Wooden Wick, Swans and Candlewic are the suppliers
