  1. Hi everyone, it has been awhile. I hope you all had a Merry Xmas. I am still making candles like crazy and wanting to buy more wax. So far I have ordered from Peak and Bitter Creek South. Have any of you ordered from Let it Shine? I believe that they are based out of Washington state.
  2. Thanks for answering. Basically, I melted the wax and added the coloring and fragance. everything was fine. the candles came out a pink. then I lit the candles and there was good scent. I then blew out the candles and they all had a layer of white wax on top where there had been the melt pool. I am wondering if it could be the coloring which I originally ordered for soap, but I used some of these in my other candles with a different wax and didnt have any problems. I would be willing to order coloring from somewhere where I know the problem would not be the dye.
  3. Thanks for answering. Well yes, the melt pool when hot is clear, but when cold, the melt pool is white. the container candle wax is pink and the melt pool is white. also I have noticed a very large flame, with 62-52-18Z in all size of containers. Help!!
  4. Well I took advise and bought IGI 4786 and it works great along with my new wicks. Can anyone tell me why when the melt pool goes clear and it is white when cooled? I put in the usual amount of fragrance and didnt add anything to the wax. Thank you:smiley2:
  5. Thanks for the replies. I am located in Roseville CA. I will look at the different sites and see what I find. Where is a site or place to get candle wax?
  6. Hi, I just joined your great forum. I came to this site yesterday smack dab in the middle of my first candle making. Thank goodness it was here. I had the wax melted and ready to poor and I couldnt keep the wick fastened to the container. The glue gun worked great. First of all, I made my first two container candles and two molded candles. I used a container wax I located at a candle place in town. (I dont know what it is made out of). I added 1.5 fragrance. I then used a combination of 3/4 parafin and 1/4 beeswax and 1 oz of fragrance on the molded candles. The molded ones are burning okay. My problem is the container ones arent burning well. I used prewaxed wicks ex large 22.8 cm and the flame is so little. It is not melting the whole surface. I can see from what people have written that there is a lot of experimenting going on, but it is hard for me to understand the lingo. I can make soap like you wouldnt believe, but this is my first attempt at candlemaking. (I love challenges!!) Is it the wick, the amount of fragrance or the wax? thanks (I used a 22 oz container, I think)
