  2. My baby granddaughter loves her baths just like me. So when she got in my bathtub on Friday she smelled all the soaps that I had out on the ledge on soapdishes. Sniffed every single one of them and said, "no" one at a time until she come to this soap. She loves it! Have to admit it was my fave too for the fragrance. You have a real winner there. Besides smelling good, it lathers nice, looks gorgeous and does not dry out our skin. YAY!!!!
  3. I'm not sure how close to the original it is, but it is a lovely scent. Amy sent a bottle in an order of mine, specificially to use in making items for her when she orders from me. I figure if the supplier likes it so much, it has to be a good one!
  4. Test it without the stearic. I think you'll be happier. I don't use it at all in lotions or creams anymore. Sorry but I'm too tired at the moment to do a % conversion on your recipe for the ingredients, so I will ask what the %'s are for the e-wax and the stearic. Will have more to contribute after that.

  6. Bluegrass Candle Supply used to have a really good one.
  7. Please understand that I am not trying to pick on you. But you should really peruse the old posts on the forum. You will find so many answers to so many questions.
  8. no lip balms contain no water based ingredients, and it would repel the water based food color think of salad dressing, vinegar and oil, they separate
  9. Those look nice. I have a couple of small ones that I use for my gift cards. Have you tried any that use zippers yet? I'm interested in making my own wallet. The nice leather ones I used to always buy just don't seem to be there anymore or have the features that I want now.
  10. As long as it has a good motor and can withstand some hard use, I'd say you would be fine.
  11. My MIL and SIL hardly ever trim their wicks. I usually trim them when I go over there. :rolleyes2 I gave them some wick dippers at christmas and instructions how to use them. Bet they don't do that either. You can't force people to take care of their own stuff.

  13. It sounds like a good fragrance from the description. For myself I'd have to re-name it. Lighting Jesus just seems wrong even if it is an essence.
  14. In my experience, it only gets dark and sooty if it is wicked wrong or if it isn't trimmed. Even if it were all dark after being used, removing it isn't all that difficult. People would be able to use it again as a container.
  15. I do some squares and as long as I burn them long enough to get a good melt pool, my corners melt as well. All I use is soy wax and a soy blend.
  16. They look like they would be time-consuming, but what a beautiful result!
  17. For right now concentrate on a lot of research and experimenting. Don't go out and buy huge masses of everything. Look on the classifieds here and all the forums you may go to, to find smaller amounts of ingredients to experiment with. Later on when you know your preferences and have recipes perfected you can buy more quantities.
  18. Welcome. You will find a lot here! Just take some time to do a lot of reading, it's fun too.
  19. Calling them a lotion bar is sort of misleading IMHO. They are a firmer body butter, no water to me means it's not a lotion. Some mold them into bar shapes and place them into tins. Others pour them into a larger lip balm type of tube or deodorant tube. There are a lot of lotion bar recipes out there. Try this one... http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11999
  20. Exactly, just like you would with real butter. I sometimes make a whipped herb butter. I let it soften on the counter and then put it in the mixing bowl. It is still opaque and has body, but not melted into an oil. Oh yes, you can do this in a microwave if you have low power settings. Just be patient and not try to do it too fast.
