  1. Absolutely gorgeous swirls!! Good job!
  2. Mine wasn't a special order either. It was a standard log mold listed on their site. After a very long time with zero response from them, I emailed (and called them) to tell them that I wanted to cancel my order. I did get an email notice back that time, telling me that the order was cancelled. I ordered from woodsfield and love the log mold as well as the customer service. I have also ordered a slab from woodsfield the other day. I am so thankful that there is still a silicone mold maker out there that you can count on. I am sorry for the owners of Upland, if they are having some sort of difficulty or if something else is going on with them. But, if that is the case, they should have a notice on the website.... or at least respond to the phone or emails. If they can't service their customers, then they shouldn't take orders. I wasted a lot of time waiting for my order. .... anyway, all is good now. :-)
  3. WOW!! Those are awesome!! I can't wait to try my hand at salt bars. They are beautiful!
  4. No, I did not request a custom mold. I don't have the time to wait. I just ordered the standard log and he had it in stock.
  5. I received an email from Larry this morning. The molds are in stock and he will be shipping them right away. He said that I can expect them in 3-4 days!! .... this is top notch customer service!!! :yay:
  6. Thanks for the response. I cannot wait to get mine! Please, let me know how yours works out..... I have a really good feeling about it!
  7. Very pretty! The top one looks like flames!! I love your blues!
  8. I know that Carebear has recently purchased molds from this company. I ended up ordering silicone logs from them yesterday. Please, if you have purchased their molds, how long did it take for you to receive them? Also, how do you like them? TIA
  9. Barbara, I added a bit of charcoal to darken it a bit. Scented, yes I did discount the water. Thanks for all of the nice compliments. This board is very inspiring. :-)
  10. Thanks for the compliments! I used TKB's Pops and the FO is BCN. It traced a wee bit quicker than I had expected, but it was managable. The scent is great!
  11. I poured this thick, to try to resemble waves.... emphasis on the "try" lol
  12. I have used Coconut Bay. I thought it smelled great, but then my mother in law came by and gave it a sniff.... She said that it smelled like a urinal cake!!!! Needless to say, I don't think I'll be CPing Coconut Bay again!
  13. I just want to add...I have no problem waiting 4 weeks for a good mold. Good craftsmanship takes time.... everyone on this board realizes that. But, there is no excuse for never returning phone calls or email messages. When I called them last (several days ago), I asked them if they were going out of business. I told them that I was concerned about whether or not my order was going to be fulfilled because no one was returning my calls or emails. ............ they still are not responding. I spent a lot of money on my order and I, originally, just wanted to know the approximate number of weeks it would take. I was curious because it depends on how many orders they have to fill at the time. When they never got back to me, I became concerned that I am wasting time on them that I don't have. If they don't come through, I have another month to look forward to waiting with another company. Then another month for those soaps to cure. That is a lot of wasted time, and that ticks me off. That is no way for them to run a company. Sorry if I seem harsh, but I am just really angry about it.
  14. Those are really neat... good work!!
  15. Thanks... I am going to look into them. I am really disappointed in Upland.
  16. Does anyone konw of another company that I can order silicone slab and log molds from? TIA
  17. My friend ordered a week before me and she is having the exact same problems. I checked my credit card and the charge is pending, but they have not drawn the money on it. I am happy that they haven't charged me yet.... but I have wasted quite a bit of time waiting for these molds and it is really going to tick me off if they have no intentions of sending them. The fact that they did not return my call when I asked them if they were going out of business, is a really bad sign to me. Either they are out of business or they have the worst customer service on the internet! I just don't get it.
  18. Hmmm, well I called them again and got the machine... (again). I asked them if they were going out of business and told them that I was concerned that I haven't been able to speak to anyone. They never called me back.... they never emailed me back. Why is their website still up and why are they still taking orders? This is crazy.
  19. I, personally, wouldn't sell it. I like to know what my soap is going to do and, with that being so oily, I'd be concerned about it in the long run. What do your numbers look like? edited to add: They are beautiful bars, btw!
  20. I have had this happen too. It was when I used a recipe with a higher % of canola. The overall bar was still a bit soft after curing 6 weeks and it was a bit oily. I have never gone back to that recipe, and it hasn't happened since.
  21. ok... sounds like I'll be sticking with the mineral oil. Dana, I have the 3.5 x 2.5 bars. I really do love this mold. I plan to use it again today. I am hopeful that it will just get better and better.
  22. Dana, I have heard about the Pam as well.... is there any problem with the Pam saponifying? I have always used mineral oil, so I am curious. Is the Pam better?
  23. OK, here are pics of the mold in use and the finished product. I am pretty happy with it. This was the very first use and it is a fairly soft recipe, straight from the mold. I sprayed and rubbed it all down with mineral oil before using it and let it set for 24 hours. I also put it in the freezer for about 1/2 hour just for good measure. The sides came off very easily. The soap did stick in one small spot. The bottom seemed to be a litte tougher, but I was able to slide the soap off, leaving a nice, smooth finish to the bottom. The dividers gave me more trouble. I really had to work at them with pliers and then with just wiggling and bending back and forth. I know that this mold needs seasoning and I am confident that it will get better with each seasoned use. I may have had to work at it a bit, but I got 18 beautiful bars for my efforts. I do plan on using my harder bar recipes until this is seasoned to my liking though. Overall, I think this is a good product so far and I look forward to using it again.
