wickchick
I've got a customer who's concerned that my tarts might not melt in her warmer (hers is a 25 watt). I test all mine on Jackel electric warmers, but can't find what Watt they are. I've emailed them, but it's Sunday and I probably won't hear back until tomorrow, so I thought I'd ask on here : ) Thanks!
SEP
I just drug one of mine out, and flipped it over. There is a metal plate there that states the wattage is 12 watts.HTHSandi
wickchick
Thanks! Mine didn't have that plate! I appreciate it!
Ring of Fire
12 watts IMO is not high enough. I think the 19-21 range is the best for scent throw. The 25 is fine, the scent just won't last as long.
Barbara AL
The new Jackel warmers that I have are 14 watts. I found out some where I can't remember but the warmers that have the glaze on the don't get as hot as the ones with a matt finish.HTHBarbara AL
safetysue
So should I use a Jackel warmer for tarts or is the wattage too low? I currently have a light bulb type (25 watt). TKS
Donna-Do
If a tart will melt in a Jackel warmer, I'd pretty much bet they'd melt in anything. Jackel's are some of the lowest wattage burners out there...Mine are 12 watts and my old AstorV wouldn't completely melt in them. I agree with Ring about the higher wattage burners. You definitely get a better throw with them.
islandgirl
I agree 12 watt will not get hot enough.. Mine are from OBI 24watt and work great..
Buttercup
I use astor v in my tarts and they will not completely melt in the jackel electric. I just ordered some of the jackel mini electric melters and I hope they will do better.
countyline
I turned my Jackel burner over and it says 14W on the very bottom of the burner. Mine will melt 1.5 oz of KY wax, but sometimes leaves a thin ring of unmelted wax around the very top. I test my melts in these burners and figure if I can get a good throw out of them, my custimers definitely will get a good throw when they burn them at home. Don't think Jackel is all bad-you will get a much longer lasting scent, instead of one that is very strong then burns off quickly.
