  1. Hello everyone, its been a while since my last post and I'm hoping this is the right spot to post this. I just downloaded a office suite spreadsheet and was wondering how it is used in candle making. I have seen in other post some from 06' that they use it in thier candle making. I'm new to the spreadsheet so I'm kind of lost, lol imagin that, lol :rolleyes2 I did take a class in college but it wasnt very detailed in the spreadsheet area, and it has been a few year's sense those college days. I looked online for "How to use a spreadsheet' but had no luck in finding anything that was of any help to me. I would be greatful for any and all help and or advise. Thanks in advance! :smiley2:
  2. I went with the HTP 105 on this this candle that i melted down and repoured. I'll see how it works and go from there, as soon as my cd's get here I will play with those. Thanks IMC I just placed a sample order with them cant wait to see what I get
  3. I ordered my sample pack from Lonestart
  4. So many wicks to choose from? Where does one start. I'm going with the millenium container blend wax, starting out with the 16oz round mainstay canning jar, but plan on dropping down to the 8oz and 4oz jar most likely round. I have been looking at the CD and CDN wicks but my favorite supplier dont seem to carry them, or I'm just not finding the spot. what would compare to these wick and be as or almost as equal to the CD and CDN's? any suggestions would be most appreciated. :smiley2: I see that other suppliers of this wick want crazy:shocked2: shipping for them and i dont want to pay crazy shipping for them.
  5. Thanks Stella I will try that, I'm mainly going to stick with jars for the most point. I think I will order the sample pack of CDNs today and give them a try. thanks again everyone.
  6. I like how you think, I think I will look into the 8 and 4oz jars, I'm glad I didnt buy 20 cases of the 16oz jars, if need be I"ll use them for canning, lol. Thanks Stella your so informative! we"ll have have coffee some day, lol
  7. Thank you! This helps so much. I am just starting with one container size for now. I want to avoide the "sh*t throwing lunatic" phase, lmao! at all cost, but I'm sure at some point it will come. I'm just taking my time and learning as I go and reading alot on this forum. Thank you IMC for the suppliers, I will check them out for sure. I do have one more question. I have 3" dia 8oz tin's, thats a little over 2" tall. could this be use to do testing in, and (oh heck what am I trying to spit out?) sense its close to the same dia. as my jar, or does it have to be of the same height? I'm such a wax drip, lmao!!!
  8. Ok the HPT1212 wick is way to big for my 3" dia 16oz jar got a huge flame, lot of bouncing with the flame also, black smoke and in less then an hour had almost a fmp. So now what do I do? I stoped the burn. Can I melt this candle down, and try a different wick? Any suggestions. I ordered a sample pack of the HPT's from Peak's should I go with the 104 or go with the 93. I hope Stella chimes in and give me some advice, lol I guess I will have to order some of the CDN's? Are the CDN know under another name? HELP!!!!
  9. Thanks Stella, I will put that on the next sample list. I mainly wanted to see how the HPT1212 burned in the container I have. I got 2 cases on sale of the 16oz canning jar's. Thats kind of the contauner I want to go with, but that could all change. I might see if I can find a wide mouth in that size or even go smaller. We'll see how this one does. Here is a pic of the jar. 16oz mainstay canning jar, with a HPT1212 wick.
  10. Well after doing the 2nd and 3rd test burns on my first candle I'm finding my wick drowning and wax on the sides. I'm thinking that it might be under wicked. I used a soy blend from MG ( no special name) a 44-28-18C in a 2" dia tin with 1/2 oz. cucumber melon FO. I get good HT and CT is awesome, but now there is wax on the sides and the flame seems to be drowning. Sorry I didn't have pic's. I did place a wick order with peaks on a sample pack of HTP wicks. I do have another candle that has yet to be tested it's a 16oz. 3" main stay canning jar 15oz container millenium blend (MG) HTP1212 wick, 1oz. Grapefruit mint, sage green dye chip, heated to 175, poured at 115, stirred constently, has wonderful CT and its been curing for about a week now. cant wait to see how it burn's I'll try to remember pics on that one, lol:rolleyes2
  11. Thanks everyone! I just didnt know what or where to start, now I do. So many scents to choose from. I can get alot in sample packs and thats great. I really do love this site more, and more!
  12. I already do! I have learned so much from this site. I made it my homepage even, lol
  13. Well now that I have this new insight as well, I dont have to worry about adding anything to my soy blend, I'll just give it a special name, rofl!!! Thanks Ravens! I just love this site!
