  1. I have used a lot of great scents from Just Scent (Becky). Some of my favorites are: Chestnuts & Brown Sugar Vanilla Buttercream Crunch Pumpkin Pecan Waffle Cinnamon Cider White Tea & Ginger Clean Cotton Perfect Pear
  2. I just went online and bought 12 - they were only $1.62 each! Love a good sale. I think it's the spiced vanilla notes that I particularly love - so if there are so great spiced vanilla fragrances out there, I would be willing to give it a try.
  3. I bought the soap this Christmas and when I'm done washing my hands, I constantly want to keep smelling them! I have to get this fragrance for candles!!! Do you know if anyone has this as a scent yet?
  4. I have been itching to pour some of the 24 samples that I got at Rustic Escentuals! I use 16 oz. and 8 oz. jelly jars with 4630 wax and HTP wicks. Here is what I poured: I was getting ready to pour 2 lbs of Carrot cake since I got an order, so I pulled what I thought were orange chips and half a brown chip - so as I started to stir, I found that the color was green - not a bright green, but a hunter green and mixed with the brown it was a color that I was NOT HAPPY with!!!!!! What to do???? I did not have a lot of wax and I wanted to pour as many of the samples I could, so I poured half the mixture into another pour pot, added a bright green chip and used that with Exotic Twilight in the other pot I added a black chip and I used Black Velvet with that. Exotic Twilgiht turned out to be a dark mossy green and the Black Velvet was a deep grey - both smelled awesome Exotic Twilight Black Velvet Monkey Bread White Nectarine Ligonberry Wreath Clean Green Kimono Flower Sunkissed Leaves Rustic Lodge Velvet Cassia Redwood Black Oak & Currant Rosewood & Musk Frozen Calabrian Bergamot & Violet So many are so good - I can't wait to see how they burn. My house was a cacophony of smells! Happy pouring!
  5. I tried Frasier Fir for the first time from Peaks last year and it is pretty awesome and sold well, I use 4630A wax. I am actually burning it now - I live in a world of Ponderosa Pines up here in Paradise, CA and I love the smell! I wish I could take all the darn sap that ends up on my car and put in a candle!!!! Another huge favorite is Home for the Holidays from Peaks - it has a bit of pine in it, but has the other great Christmas scents in it that make it a perfect, all-around scent for the holidays.
  6. Since most of these are weak scents, it might fun to try and mix a few and see what I get! Thanks for the ideas... I guess since the fragrance houses discontinued most of the ones I still have goes to show they weren't so great for them either!!! I got those when I was a young candlemaker and didn't do samplers first!
  7. I am doing an inventory of all of my fragrances and I have at least 10, almost full 1 lb fragrance oils that I don't ever use. I was wondering what everybody did with the fragrances they didn't like or your customers didn't like?
  8. Last November I ran into a problem with some 4630 I ordered from Peaks. I had some helpers and while I was out running errands, they started on the new box of 4630. Well, many candles were made and then I got back and started working with it. Definitely harder - not cutting like soft butter. I talked with Peaks, they assured me that they sent me the right wax, but I assured them it wasn't 4630 and it certainly wasn't burning the same. I have stopped buying anything from Peaks after that and now I get my wax from Let it Shine. I just got a new shipment of 4630 from them today - I wonder if they hadn't moved through new inventory when I was ordering from them before. I'll let you know if this new shipment of 4630 behaves differently.
  9. Hi! I want to make some votives, but I don't have any votive wax. I do have container wax IGI-4630 and pillar wax IGI 1343A. I know I could just go straight with the pillar wax, but I do want them to be a bit softer - anyone ever use these type of waxes for votives? Thanks for your help!
  10. It's a very clean scent, it kind of reminds me of ocean or a rainlike scent. Do the rest of y'all agree?
  11. Thanks, yet another thing I have to consider when testing! I poured some more testers tonight, so I'll make sure I space them out.
  12. LX is a type of wick - this series of wicks are flat braided wicks. HTP wicks are cotton braided wicks.
  13. Hey, I just got a few Peaks orders and I got the Casaba Mist as well and I thought the OOB was awesome too! I'm going to be pouring this weekend, I think I might have to try this one....
  14. Wicks unlimited has this wonderful catalog that explains everything you want to know about wicks and talks about all of the different types of wick out there and what they do. Check this website out: www.wicksunlimited.com
  15. Candlewic has a 4 oz. spool and 5 lb. spool of every HTP wick -EXCEPT 93! Wicks unlimited could be a good source for you: www.wicksunlimited.com. Hope this helps!
