  1. Hi everyone!! Okay I am in need of some advice. I am running super low on my bags for my dipped critters, and I lost all my links when my computer crashed in the summer!! aaarrrggghhh. Is anyone willing to share with me their suppliers for cello bags. I like 7" and up but I do not need large quanities...this is going to be a problem I bet. But if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be awesome. TIA!
  2. I also sell the 2 1/4 and they use to sell pretty good for me. However right now with the economy in my area not much of anything is selling. Clam shells for me never sold unless I sold them dirt cheap.
  3. The soy dot tarts are here at this site....I hope it is okay to post the link. I just saw things and thought how cute! http://www.dakotascents.com/home1.html I am going to go check out the thread on the scoopable tarts now. Thanks so much!
  4. Question #1 - Does anyone know how to make scoopable tarts? How is this done? Is this just like using a soy or container wax? I saw these on a site and thought it was cute. Question #2 - Saw these on a site and thought they were cuter but can not figure out how they did it...soy dot tarts? They are so cute they look like the icecream dots! Now how in the world would you make something like that? Thanks!
  5. Thanks for the replies. I guess one day I will have to try doing the dipped TP. I think it is cute and very funny. I am also glad I am not the only one who doesn't like my dippies to be all globbed up and their fur stuck to them. I like them fluffed up and with a slight look of wax on them. Hey whatever works best for each of us.
  6. OMG that is so GORGEOUS!!!!!! I do not think I could ever do that!!! WOW you have pefected that!! Now how much does dipped TP sell for? LOL. I should have given that as my gag wedding gift. LOL. I love that.
  7. I have to ditto the above post. The Candle Source's J&J Bedtime Bath is awesome! Nice and strong and smells just like the orginal. Give them a try you will not be disappointed. Diane
  8. I truly hate and I mean hate with a passion "wine and roses" OMG GROSS. I had to make this for a wedding and I literally had to leave my home once I poured it b/c it made me so sick to my stomach. Nothing like having all your windows and doors opened in mid Oct. just b/c of a scent. I also do not like patchouli!! And alot of florals..but I stay away from wine and roses and patchouli. Diane
  9. Okay quick question. I do the dipped animals and I have done dipped hand towels and wash clothes as a gag wedding gift.(oh that basket came out so nice too dipped towels, candles and ect, nice...good laugh too) I met someone who also makes canldes and dippies, and she said she does not ringing or squeeze and wax out of her animals and she doesn't pluck and of the fur or anything.( I lightly ring mine out if it is dripping like crazy and I pluck up anyfur or hair on mine) Her dippies seem to sell well for her. I did see some of her work and wasn't too impressed on her dippies.(they just looked thrown together) Does anyone else make them like this? Is this the true/real way these are to be made? Am I doing something wrong? Oh and how do you dip TP? That must make a mess!!! Diane
  10. For mixing my batches I use the chinese chop sticks. I also use spatulas from the dollar store. As for the spatulas, I quickly wipe them clean when I am done or I place them in my over for a few minutes until everything is melting, then I wipe and rinse off.(I do not heat my over up high 200 and then I shut it off also) The chinese chop sticks I wipe of quick, and a quick rinse, place out to dry and I am back in business. Now I do go through these though just b/c we eat alot of chinese and we all grab a few chop sticks, just for me to bring home and use for candle making.....sshhh don't tell them though. Oh and these work great for wrapping wicks in to keep them in place when pouring....awesome wicker holder when I can't find my real ones. Diane
  11. Ok, I gave the crisco a try. I made 2 batches of tarts in 2 types of pillar/votive/tart wax using the crisco. I made one in cake bake and the other mango, peach kiwi. So now I have 4 bathes of tarts, 2 made normally and 2 made with crisco. The cake bake smells pretty much the same. There is just a hint more of cold throw with the crisco added to the wax. Test 2, a diiferent type of wax, normal batch cold through smells good, crisco batch cold throw is stronger. I am not sure if the cold throw is stronger now b/c they were just made yesterday and the other batches the night before those. I did not burn any yet, this is just cold throw results. I will keep you all posted when I do the melt down test. Now I must say this, I will not be adding a teaspoon of crisco to my tart batches.(or vasaline either) Not impressed but glad I did it!! Diane
  12. I did search the web and this board and didn't find much except for a few sites that said it can be added to straight paraffin. I figured I could maybe try it since she said she has gotten tarts from someone else again who kind of let it slip her secret was adding one of these to her wax. Maybe I will try it in a batch just for me, but I doubt I will end up doing this. Thanks everyone for the replies. Diane
  13. I have both 3/4 oz tart molds and 1 oz tart molds. Mine are both the metal scalloped molds. Maybe you can go online and check the measurements or write up on the molds you bought. Diane
  14. Thank you for the replies. I have tried searching for those key words with no luck.(I must be doing something wrong) I did hear years ago about adding like a tea spoon of crisco to your wax but I never truely paid attention to it so I was double checking. I did hear of adding some soy wax to wax but unsure of the amounts. I am up to learning how to get a better scent throw but afraid to try this person request. I will say what wax I use I use VB from candles and supplies. Any other possible suggestions. This one came highly recommended from Cindy the owner. Thanks so much!
  15. Hi everyone, I am new to posting here but I have a question and need expert advice. I have been making candles, tarts, B&B for 5-6 years now, and a few days ago someone came ot me and asked me for a tart request. I was asked if I could make my tarts and possibly add some crisco or vasleine to the batch for her. I asked why and she said she was told these give tarts an awesome scent throw. Now my question is this...is this true? I use a votive blend wax for my tarts but I am always up to improving my items! So can someone tell me more about this? Thanks so much! Diane
