  1. I am looking for someone who makes handmade candles in SW WA (near Vancouver/La Center) that might be interested in doing a bazaar on December 2nd. The Clark County Farmgirls are hosting a bazaar at the La Center Grange featuring only handmade items. We have soap, jewelry, antiques, vintage items -- but no candles. The space rental is $25 and you would need to bring your own table. Please email me if you're interested.
  2. Did this ONCE! The recipes that I bought were free ones that I had seen on the web.
  3. The scent is stronger today after it sat overnight. I do CPOP and pour at 100. Use olive oil, coconut, palm, and castor in my base recipe. I'm going to try 1 oz ppo and see what happens.
  4. I have been going by most of the supplier's recommendations of .5 ppo and it is not enough scent. I soaped today with BB English Rose at that rate and can hardly smell it. I want to be able to smell the scent on my skin when I use it. I'm going to try 1 oz ppo the next time to see what happens and will adjust according to the fo. I've been soaping for a year just for my use but want to start selling. My recipe is great, just need to work on the scent and coloring.
  5. I get my 4 oz tins and spray bottles from Speciality Bottle. They have reasonable prices, quality products, and don't charge an arm and a leg for shipping. Plus they ship fast.
  6. What is cyclo? I make sprays and would like to omit the vodka so that I can sell them. Thanks.
  7. I don't use it for inventory so didn't get the pro version. But I love it for storing recipes, lye calculator, and formulating new recipes. And like the fact that it keeps track of costs too. Well worth the money even at full price.
  8. Love the unrefined in my lotion bars and add spearmint eo. Smells like an Andes Mint! I think it's a matter of preference and I'd use refined if I didn't want the chocolate scent.
  9. I usually cut mine at 1.25. I just did a batch at 1.5 last week for a swap. Made for nice chunky bars but too big on a regular basis.
  10. Just found this thread today. I have been making lotion bars for about a year. Decided to give this one a try for something different. It is wonderful! I think I may switch to this one in place of my regular recipe. I'm still testing because I want to try kokum butter -- used cocoa butter instead.
  11. I love this software. My trial ran out a couple of months ago. I'm going to buy now.
  12. I use tins for my lotion bars and have never had trouble with them rusting. I get mine from Speciality Bottle. They are very nice with rolled edges. Plus they don't charge an arm and a leg for shipping.
  13. I called GB on Thursday to see if they had a supplier close to me. If I have to order online the shipping is going to be as much as the wax! They referred me to a distributor in St. Louis. She gave me a really great price, including shipping, on the 464 so I'm going to try it. Just not happy with the scent throw from the CB Advanced. Thanks so much for the links and replies. Kay
  14. Where can the 464 wax be purchased? I did a Google search and came up with nothing. I'm using EcoSoya CB Adv but want to try something else. Thanks. Kay
