  1. We made our first 3 candles and they look great and have an AMAZING cold throw... how long should we cure these before testing (I'm hoping they work well). So far all of the great words of wisdom I've read on this board have REALLY come in handy;)
  2. Peak is offering a free FO with every oil right now.:highfive:
  3. I got my first 50lbs of wax and 23 FOs yesterday! Our wicks are coming in today so we can make our first candle this weekend! I'm so excited. We also got an amazing deal - 252 apotachary jars at about $0.40 a piece froma place going out of business....wish me luck
  4. My wife and I are starting our candle company and having difficulty finding a good name. We had a few things were looking at and I was wondering what everyone thought. First of all, we are thinking about having 2 seperate names and labels to appeal to 2 different demographics (one for the 20-35 "craftsters" and one more traditional), but we're also thinking that maybe too much work. One name we're working with right now my wife likes but I'm not to sure about: Scents of Style. does anyone have suggestions? If it helps we are going with all natural soy candles.
  5. Have you tried using like a selaphane or shrink wrap?
  6. If you go to Peak and choose what you want, then go to "Accessories." There is an option that looks like this: Miscellaneous Code: Miscellaneous Price: $1.00 Quantity in Basket: none If you put 4 of those in your basket and fill in the blank area with "Please ship USPS" they will do it.
  7. My wife and I went out last night and bought one at Wal-Mart for some candles we bought (the tops were bubbly and had chips) and used it, and I have to say, it was absoultely amazing. The best $20 investment I could have made...the tops are perfect now
  8. How great is that?!?!?! I placed an order over the weekend from www.thecandlesource.com and I goofed up with my payment of shipping. Loren sent me an e-mail asking that we pay a little more for shipping (again my error not his) which we did. Even with my error and his having to let me know that we goofed, my package is still due to be delivered tomorrow. Peak also zoomed my order and it is supposed to be on my doorstep tomorrow as well! I cannot believe how quickly these guys were at getting my stuff out.
  9. how funny is this? I have been debating between the three methods and am trying to narrow them down LOL. Is this another one of those personal preference things that I should try out each method? I cannot thank you all enough for your quick replies to my need for help!
  10. Hello everyone, my name is Tom and my wife (Christine) and I are getting into candlemaking as a hobby and as a small home business while we're in college. We have been ordering our supplies and I saw all of the good reveiws about Peak candles and thecandlesource.com so we ordered Ecosoya container wax from Peak and fragrences from thecandlesource. I am now down to deciding on wicks and I was wondering what kind of luck people had had with Peak's Pre-Tabbed HTP Coreless Wicks? Also, how have you all found to be the best way to get the tab stuck to the jar? Thanks for your help and i look forward to getting to know you all.
