Dear all, Thank you for your information. The one send by TOP was extremely helpful. I think you've succeeded making stearic acid candle even though they are from tallow oil source (cow oil). It looks just like to one I saw sold in the market. I can't believe my innocent comment "stearic acid are candle of the future" can make such a stir. But it is happening, may be not in the USA YET.. 100% palm stearic acid is a big industry in other parts of the world. It is cheaper than petroleum base paraffin. Haven't you heard low grade Crued Palm Oil is being used as fuel for power plant in Europe ? I've checked Candlewic but it would be very2 costly to buy and send it to far away land (freight + import duty). We have plenty of stearic acid from palm here. Anybody know how to make those palm blend? What other materials incorporated in those blends ? Any comments welcomed.... nett..

Hello, I've tried making 100% stearic candle. I believe they will be the future candle. Result is not attractive. I have flaky surface and can actually peel the flake off piece by piece. Pouring temp is 150F and then mold submerge into bucket of water. Any body have experience with 100% stearic please kindly help..... Have I used the wrong type of stearica acid ? I know there are wide range of Stearic acid with variance in carbon composition/content. I used the one with C18 content around 49-60%. No additive is used for this trial. nett..

Hello, I've tried making candle with 100% stearic acid. I believe palm wax are candle of the future. Unfortunately result is not as attractive as the candle surface have flaking appearance. You can actually peel the flake off one by one. The strearic acid was heated to 150-160 F before pouring into mold and then submurge into bucket of water.
