I have a 10.5 month old son and I dabble in candles. I have been dabbling for 2 years now and still love my "Hobby".

  1. nothing.. I am trying to get my website licked...
  2. every so often our mailman would come in his personal vehicle instead of the usps jeep, one day I asked him and he said that when the jeeps break down they have to use their own cars... guess it is better than having to use your own car every day like our rural carriers..
  3. Congrats PA!! Cold Wax will be in my pot this weekend, I am fighting the urge to plug in the presto now, DH is OOT so now is the best time to do some heavy cleaning....
  4. My black bits probably come from dust and what not, I never use the lid so I know particles of whatever get in there... I also get a brown goo sometimes in the bottom...
  5. You can buy one off of ebay with the spout already attached (last I looked) I find though that I never used it so when I went with my 2nd presto I did not even fool with a spout...
  6. I second the scale advise, FO is too precious (and expensive) to waste! There is a wealth of knowledge already posted here and in the archives and lots of folks who will help you out if you can't find the info when you search! Sounds like you are off to a good start, my first tester was a big eye opener for me too!
  7. Awesome! I feel like everyone here is "partied" out. Between Pampered Chef, Tupperware, Adult themed parties and Jewlery parties my friends would groan if I threw a Candle party!!
  8. Remember too that you are making contacts while you are there promoting your candles and or b&b stuff! I had my first show a week ago and passed out fliers to anyone who remotly slowed down in dfront of my booth, and now I am getting emails and calls with orders!!!
  9. Kandle, The baby was an avatar I found and thought was cute, he def. reminds me of mine who is now 8 months, it seems like just yesterday I had him and now he is trying to walk...sigh Heaven, I didn't have anyone ask about buying one, they all mixed and matched till they had 3 or 5! That would frustrating to sell a tart at a time!
  10. The tarts are mini ice molds! I bought them off the classys here and I bag up the scents seperately when sold, I can see where it would be a PITA to package them!
  11. Exactly Sarah, I do that as well, why throw away perfectly good wick that you will have to buy for another candle?!
  12. Michi, I think they sold better than they would have had they been pre packaged... they didn't fly off the table but they did O.K. I think they liked the option to pick and choose!
  13. The best thing about the risers is that they cost NADA!! My MIL does woodcrafts and we used wood scraps they had laying about! We built them like you would build steps.... I love the risers too! Thank you for all your compliments!
  14. I actually had my FIL build them, it didnt take too long either, I covered them in the pumpkin fabric... I will switch up acording to seasons! The gladware containers were a cheap way to go and I like them too, they have the 5 on the bottom so I just store them with the lids on top!
