  1. I'm guessing someone added mica to the wax when it was hot. Be aware that although mica doesn't burn (according to the web), it can clog the wick. I have not seen a sparkly wax for candlemakers. GoldieMN
  2. Your opinions on using Moscow Mule mugs for candles. Have you tried them? Good or bad suggestions welcomed. GoldieMN
  3. Has anyone smelled this fragrance from this company? And if so, is there a candle fragrance company with a similar fragrance? GoldieMN
  4. Here we go again. I have someone asking for a mahogany scent. Has anyone tried Fillmore's Mahogany Teakwood? Or is there another company you would recommend? I mention Fillmore because I have to order from them anyway. I hate men's cologne fragrances so have steered away from mahogany. I use C1 soy wax although this customer wants aroma bead ornies made up with the fragrance. GoldieMN
  5. @coffeebean In C1, I got an unbelievable throw with Midwest Fragrance's French Toast. I may have to blend with something as I'm not sure others would like it. Also good throw with their Cocoa Butter Cashmere, Cranberry & Clove, Strawbery Pound Cake, and Cotton Candy Dreams. The Cotton Candy was for a special order and now customer doesn't want it. If you want it, I will send it to you free. You just pay shipping. I have quiet a few samples I haven't put in wax yet. I did not like the smell of Sweater Weather and many others that were too much like a man's cologne. What have you found has a good hot throw? GoldieMN
  6. I use C-1 soy but use to use 464. Nice hot throw from their Vanilla Bean Noel, Coconut Lime Verbena, Freezia. Love the Jelly Donut but could never get a hot throw from it. Expensive so won't order unless there is a sale. Are you looking at any fragrances in particular? GoldieMN
  7. Oh, thanks so much @KeepShining! I will revisit CandleScience Mistletoe. GoldieMN
  8. We are kind of in the middle of a discussion about having Candlescience's Mistletoe duplicated. Some of you said you were trying Candle Cocoon's Winter Woodlands Whisper to see if it was the same fragrance as the Mistletoe. Please reply with your experience. Is it the same? GoldieMN
  9. I wrap in tissue in place in the small Kraft bags as @TallTayl mentioned. The bags I use can easily fit two candles in the bottom of the bag. Have a business card hanging from bag handle as well. GoldieMN
  10. I actually found an ounce bottle of it! Does it make a difference how old it is? I also have a little left in the big bottle but not an ounce. GoldieMN
  11. Over a year ago, there was a discussion with two or three alternative Mistletoe fragrances to replace the CS reformulated fragrance. How did the testing go for those ordering from these different suppliers? I ordered one from Midwest Fragrance Company a month ago and got very little hot throw. GoldieMN
  12. Hope this is ok for sharing a website and info on a business like this. I've started testing fragrances from Midwest Fragrance (https://midwestfragranceco.com/collections/frontpage) last year. Have found a number of oils that work with my C-1 soy in wide-mouth pints. Trying to stay with my Premier wicks so maybe their other fragrances that I passed on would work with another wick. But I'm also starting to test double wicking with Premier 725 wicks which may be the answer. It is run by a young couple who have their own candle company as well. Now they are slowly expanding into a few more items for chandlers. I like the fact that they have 2 oz. bottles for approximately $2/ounce. Free shipping on orders over $149. Once in awhile they have a free shipping deal as well. GoldieMN
  13. Wholesale Supplies Plus has priced itself out of my market. Besides, I have ordered from them multiple times in the past but my account says "no orders". Had problems logging into another fragrance website after they took that company over. Just venting a bit here. . . GoldieMN
  14. I was told I could remelt and repour by someone who was an experienced Chandler on this list. I've done this a few times with no noticeable change in the candles. I was using a soy wax. GoldieMN
