  1. My first candle was a Budweiser beer glass, complete with froth in 8th grade art class. Could not get away with that today!
  2. I have been trying to find out what Crossroads uses for wax. Their candles are so pretty, they almost look photoshopped. I work in photoshop, and I noticed that every one of their jars have the exact same light reflection.
  3. I am in So. Cali. but sometimes I eat the shipping so I know I'm getting the best. To your south is "General wax" in Los Angeles. I have not used their wax though. You already know about "Peak". I am not familiar of any up North Ca. way but there is a sticky on the forum for suppliers.
  4. Well, they are officially closed now. Sad way to end what was a great supplier with some wonderful FOs.
  5. Test! Test! Test! your Wicks. For yourself and or for gifts, you must test burn for every different scent, jar and color. I've been addicted to the madness for 16 years now, and I still facepalm on a daily basis.
  6. I used them quite a bit years ago, and never had a problem. When I heard they were closing, I jumped on a couple pounds of Cranberry Crumble FO. It took like a week to process and ship. In my experience working with people. When they know their job is ending some tend to not give a sh** anymore.
  7. I personally love Nature's Garden. Great prices and massive selection.
  8. http://www.fragranceoilfinder.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=1_40_2444 This should help.
  9. Hi all, BCS is shutting down in June. All ordering will then be done through BCN. Shipping from there to me ( So. Cali) is a joke. I can't live without Cranberry Crumble, but can't seem to find it anywhere else. Does anyone know of a mixture to copy this? TIA
  10. I love the idea of mixing and creating your own signature scent. In my experience although, It seems like when I get an wild hair to experiment I'll do a little of this, some of that, a couple drops of this and my wild hair smells like sweaty scalp. How do you begin to figure your formula so you don't wind up with wa$ted FO:confused:
  11. I think we can all relate to every response posted. But, here are a few of my favorite things... "That smells wonderful" "I love your candles" "My friends ask me where I got this" :smiley2:
  12. Cleaning and testing for sure. Then having great ideas, and not the hands to produce it:sad2:
  13. I taught myself enough Photoshop to do the basics. Purchased a nice label stock and do my own. Saves a lot of money.
  14. When I'm testing wicks I just cut the tab off the wick. If your wick does not work you can warm your candle, and pull your wick out. Then I use a wick pin or a skewer to make a new hole, insert wick (without tab) and test. HTH
