Sachets I made last year about this time are still very strongly scented in my workshop, cars, closets and drawers. I sell a fair amount of them. My neighbor had to use my car one morning when hers wouldn't start and commented on how good my car smelled. She thought the corn cob was little chunks of my soap. I used one of my 8oz Mason jars to measure out the corn and put it into a Ziploc plastic container with a lid. I added about 3/4 oz of Apple Cinnamon Strudel fragrance. I gave it a few shakes to mix the fragrance with the corn and left it sit to absorb. I gave it a few shakes every day and when I opened up the container today, it was dry and smelled wonderful! I added the scented corn to the 8oz jar and closed it with a daisy lid.The recipe that Bitter Creek is 1oz of fragrance with 2 cups of crushed corn cob. For people, NOT in a "farm" area, how are they selling for you?How much are you charging for them?Packaging them?And when you put them in your car, drawers, etc., there's never been an issue with leaving an oil residue at all?TIA for your responses! TallTayl Posted March 2, 2011 Share Posted March 2, 2011 I love this material. As long as you don't overdo the fragrance/EO and allow plenty of soak/dry time they shouldn't leak oil. I have some more than a year old that still smell strong and fresh. When you're sick of the sachet just sprinkle the bits on your carpet and vac them up. BC has bears that have the velcro back that you can stuff scented crushed corn cob in or aroma beads. Here in the wild west, we use corn cobs in little wooden shacks with half moon air vents cut into the wood on land that perks well. The corn cobs definitely hold the aroma.Seriously, what a great way to recycle. Can I just crush up some dried out corn cobs and scent them for a sachet? Is it that easy? (Unused ones of course.)
