TheWickChick
I'm having an outdoor wedding this summer and would like my centerpiece candles to be clear gel, but since it's outside I thought I'd add citronella to it to keep the mosquitos away. Has anyone tried this? The FO I bought said it was gel safe although I have not tested it yet.
Vicky_CO
Yuck I am not sure I would want that scent at my wedding. Try maybe a lemongrass much nicer to smell and would also help keep the bug down.
Country Crafter
Gotta agree with Vickie, I am not sure citronella is a good choice for a wedding, personally I find it really chemically and overpowering. We have used Lemongrass for outside candles and it works well keeping those kritters away.
TheWickChick
I had no idea. Sounds like a good idea to me.
moonrose64
The answer is yes to Gel..I did it last summer...But I agree with everyone else..I mixed lemongrass with my citronella and it made it much more tolerable to smell. But then I just switched to straight lemongrass and I'm hooked. It works great....Good luck with the candles and Hope you have a beautiful wedding day...:smiley2:
