Scents that ROCK in CP Soap

Recommended Posts

  • 2 weeks later...
did want to add a few of my favorites:

BCN: Jasmine (utterly lovely)

CS: Violet Lime

Daystar: Buttermilk & Honey

LSC: Lavender

I buy almost all of my fo's from the above suppliers and was rather surprised not to see any of them on your list!

Did you check the earlier pages of the post? It's a (mostly) alphabetical listing and the last few adds were in the M-P range so the B-D & L suppliers weren't carried over...

I imagine that TCS is The Candle Source. Good prices on decent oils but not all of them soap worthy.

HTH!

I have a few WSP EO blend faves in CP. All are good stickers and smell great:

Almond Honey

Mint Thyme

Relaxation (Chamomile/Palmrosa)

Euphoria (Jasmine/Rose) - this one will seize if soaped hot though

I also like SoapSupplies.net version of Pink Sugar. It is lighter than most and does not turn brown.

If the first one is Taylored Con. the last one Tennessee, what co. is the middle one (TCS)??

TIA

Taylored Concepts

Mexican Vanilla

Warm Orange Gingerbread (turns very dark)

Anyone done the Mexican Vanilla lately?? I am looking for a good vanilla after my last one didn't harden up well in CP.

Cucumber Melon-Fragance Buddy-No A or D and sticks like glue-very authentic

Jungle (Lush Type)-Wowzer, so good (little pricey) but no A or D and sticks

Supernova (Lush Typer)-Fantastic! No A or D, sticks really well

Sultana (Lush Type)-Same as above

So far all the Lush dupes are excellent. Reasonably priced oils that are very potent and easy to work with in any application. The turnaround on orders is amazing and shipping is free with orders over $100.00! I give Fragrance Buddy two thumbs up!

I am new here.  I recently had an order to RE in excess of 500USD.  Much of that was FOs and mica powders.  I am a cold process soap maker. Having just received and used several of the scents that I see some of you speaking about, I have to ask - do you mean straight out of the bottle, or in a soap, a candle, or perfume?  I am so disappointed in almost all of their scents after using them in almost 10 different cp soap loaves, using various recipes.  I am very cautious with flash points, I add 1 ounce of scent per pound of oils, and yet after only two to three weeks of drying, you can barely smell them.  I also use Nature's Garden and Essential Depot.  There is a stark difference in fragrance longevity using these two other companies.  One reason that I ordered from RE was that I received some samples from a soap gathering, and then placed orders with all three of these companies.  After talking to some other soapers, they have had the same experience.  The samples were much better than the product that was ordered from the company.  Out of the 10 mica powders that I ordered, none of them are that great, even when mixed with jojoba oil.  The others I ordered from Crafters Choice were phenomenal, as was the my test run of cosmetic mica eye powders.  Does any one else have these experiences with RE?  I will just avoid the company in the future.  Too bad because I really wanted to love all of it..... :(

Some of my most powerful throwers in candles and most true fragrances in soap are fromRE. Their lemon verbena, for instance, is a top seller in soap, candles, lotions, etc.

Every company has good ones and duds. My experience with NG is the opposite of yours :)

I've got a bunch from Candle Science that are in my make queue for testing so far the only one that has really bowled me over with, "I have to have this all the time"

I tend to blend FO's a bit, but I would totally use these by themselves; they're just wonderful.

Candle Science

Pomegranate Cider with a smidgen of Red Current

Pumpkin Pie with a few drops of Red Ginger Saffron (to punch it up a bit.)

I think the Pumpkin Pie did a vanilla brown morph on me, (which this time I'm DELIGHTED that it did morph). It went from flesh colored soap to a decidedly pumpkin pie brown colored soap. I added a little Rhassoul clay and a just a spec of bronze mica for colorants. Still there's vanillin in the FO and pretty sure that's where the brown came from.

I'll have more to post I'm sure!
