Cat food cans as melters?

Recommended Posts

This is probably a stupid question....but I was wondering with all the cat food cans I throw out daily, how would they make as no wick candles as like a tin that you can put on a warmer?   Yay?   Nay?   Would they get too hot?    Maybe just too tacky? hmmmm

Ya know, you'll just have to try it out to decide if it will work............Once you get the ''burn'' down to a science then you could eliminate the cat-food label.  I"ve never been into burning this type of candle(tines) .

As a related topic, I do recycle various jars for container candles.....like a jar of chopped pickle relish makes a perfect candle using 4630 with a #6  ECO wick.

But all that said, I do not like burning tins any size or FO....for me, they just get too hot for the amt of throw...but that's just me.

Trapp, I think it would be doable. I bet you could find a way to make them super cute and rustic with your labels and some embellishments.

They're just metal, right? Seems to me they would work just fine as a Wickless candle. I have a ton of tuna cans, they're about the same size, let's test it out! I have two plate warmers in two different rooms... They just go right on the hot plate, right? I've never used a Wickless candle before, lol.
