Candybee
Thanks to TT's post on rebatching soap a la Lilly I was able to reclaim 15 botched soaps and repurpose them. The old soaps I am rebatching may look prettier than the new ones but that is because the batter was so thick with soap shreds that I opted to do fairly simple color schemes for all 3 rebatches. The first is my Ginger Lime pumice scrubs. I made this batch using some 5 lemongrass & lime castile soaps I forgot to add the fragrance to. Here are the results: Old lemongrass & lime castile without the fragrance Rebatched to a Ginger Lime pumice scrub. Soap in the mold pic. Cut pics. Sorry the pic quality is so bad. They smell awesome. Candybee
The second rebatch is my Mediterranean Fig pumice scrub. I am rebatching these because I forgot to add the pumice! Here is one of the 5 I am rebatching: Rebatch soap in the mold: Cut pics of the new soap: Closeup pic. These came out nice. I love the 'parfait' look!
Candybee
The 3rd is my Goddess pumice soap. Again I forgot the fragrance for these so am rebatching! One of the original 5 soaps: Rebatched in the mold pic: Cut pics: Close up. These came out pretty nice too! Love the speckly color mix from the soap shreds!
Candybee
I just realised I see a very stylish 'rearing horse' in the first Mediterranean Fig soap pic. Can you see it? Edited April 9, 2017 by Candybee
Gsmakinsoap
Nice job on the rebatching. I did some too, but had to push the envelope and try 50% soap shreds to new oils. So, I'm gonna let them set a while to harden up more before I unmold. Actually, what I had wasn't soap "shreds". It was soap "crumbles". I found out what happens when you don't use a stick blender and pour fairly runny. It ends up like crumbly soft sand! After curing for almost 2 weeks, I could take it and break it up into crumbles. It was actually very interesting...if I broke it up and then continued to massage it, what I ended up with was something almost exactly like playdough! So If I ever need to sculpt some soap, I'll know how to make the playdough for it (assuming I can replicate what I did the first time). I do see the horse; cool
