moonshine
Well I am back at it after not touching candles since last Christmas - my stock is super low and the holidays are right around the corner I need suggestions on scents that work well in 415 for 3 of the 16 ounce colored mason jarsPurpleBlueGreenLast year I did the blue in what I had left of MW winter festival and called it fresh snow- it sold out but to me was very light and the oil is now gone I have so many of these colored jars and I want to get them out of my way! LolFor the green I am thinking I will use the Fillmore Christmas tree that I call white pine - was a number one seller but I am stumped on matching the purple and blue to a holiday type scent that can be sold thru the winter as well.....like I said I have a ridiculous amount of these jars and need to let them goThanks for any help you can give
kandlekrazy
For blue I would go with something like the candle source's Christmas Splendor or any blend without overbearing pine. Purple makes me think plum pudding, which I don't even know if it exists but a bakery scent might be nice or even a cranberry blend.
ChrisR
Mulberry is a good purple, Christmas scent.
moonshine
I use Christmas splendor from NG....do you know if it's the same?Chris- any recommendations on a mulberry? I have to order Christmas tree from Fillmore and see they have a cranberry plum and a mulberry bushI want to avoid sickly sweet and bakery- I get sick making themAlso the blue I thought I could just do winter wonderland but I am so burned out on that scent and want soenthing new and unique
Trappeur
Christmas hearth from Candle Science or Flaming Candle is top top seller for me and you could do that in the blue....... Like Chris said I think a mulberry would be perfect......and look beautiful in that jar...... Trappeur
Belinda
FB has a great mulberry! Cajun has a two that are good also. One is Christmas Mulberry and the other is Mulberry Madness. Both are good in my opinion. What about Glade's glistening snow for the blue one? Or some type of peppermint? Or even that one called soft blanket or something like that, or sweater weather or frosted windowpane from RE.?
ChrisR
I've only used the Christmas Mulberry & Mulberry from Lone Star and both are wonderful and strong. As a matter of fact, because I had both to try, I mixed them together for a great blend!

Lol all the ideas you got I think are super!!

emilyspoppy
Hey, Moonshine! Nice to know you're still a chandler and back on CS. Missed you! Whatever you decide to do I'm sure will work for you in using-up surplus containers. I thought I would add this thought to the mind pool (puddle?), though, for other chandlers trying to sort out Christmas fragrances; I have for years had to "mark down" remaining/unsold seasonal candles to the point where it became really an issue for me. I decided a couple years ago to adjust my marketing on using seasonal fragrances that I can re-label after the holiday event. On January 2nd it seems like no one wants to purchase a Christmas labeled candle anymore. I discontinued a few of my fragrances like "Eggnog" and "Holly Berry", but continue to produce "Christmas Tree", "Town & Country Christmas" and a few others. I just remove the holiday label and put on the new one. "CT" becomes "Fresh Cut Pine" and "T&C Christmas" switches over to "Candle Shop". It's our custom signature fragrance and sells well under both labels all year long now. I keep "Bayberry" and "Frankincense & Myrrh" on the shelf until they sell out, though. They become "special order" candles outside of the holiday season. There are many other great fragrances that can be both holiday specific and year long sellers when renamed. Just something to think about. Best of wishes to you and everyone else who are gearing-up for the best season in the candle making trade. Dave BTW; This is a photo of my granddaughter, Emily, taken when she was just a little tyke. It won 1st place in "Parent's" magazine holiday photo contest the year it was submitted. It was taken by her 16 year old cousin who erased the image from his camera's file shortly after it was taken. Fortunately he sent a digital copy to my daughter through an email just before he erased it. I'm; "Emily's Poppy". She gave me that name while we were watching "Dora the Explorer" during a baby-sitting visit with me. It's not like I'm bragging or anything! (NOT!)
Trappeur
Ditto what Dave said about relabeling fragrances left over after Christmas. I've always done that. What a cutie patootie Dave of your little Emily! Trappeur
moonshine
Thanks everyone for the suggestions and Dave your Emily is adorable!I do make a lot of my Christmas scents with ones I carry year round with a different name and that does help with the exemption of a few like winter wonderland and peppermint that I call candy cane - nobody wants those after January and I need to replace my eggnog because it doesn't sell at all and it makes me sick to pour I need to dive in and get this done.....but that's the hard part I get distracted with other things! Lol
chuck_35550
Try Tinsel for the blue from NG and Hansel and Gretel's House for the purple and Christmas Cabin for the green. All three of those fos from NG have been great sellers (I use a parasoy) in the past. HTH Steve
