KB12
Hi all! I've been testing my candles, and when my wax gets to the bottom, on the last burn, my wick tab starts to move to the side of my glass jar creating a potential hazard. This happens even with smaller wick sizes. I've been using hot glue to glue my wick tabs down, so I'm assuming that as the jar heats up the glue is melting. What are other alternatives to using hot glue?
Vicky_CO
There is several options. Wick stickums (suppliers)Silicone (hardware store)High temp glue like E6000 (that stuff can be a mess) There are few more but that is all I can think of off the top of my head. I use wick stickums. kandlekrazy
The wick stickums really do work very well and are worth the investment..no mess with glues. E6000 also works but I totally agree with Vicky it's a mess and it also dries up fairly quickly so if youdo purchase it I suggest the smallest tube so you're not wasting $.
Jcandleattic
I use the silicone that is tested to withstand temps up to 400°. I have used wick stickums, and those are good too in a pinch - when I can't find my silicone, or am out and haven't gotten any new, but I much prefer the silicone... KB12
Thanks for the ideas! Jcandle- where do you find the silicone? Walmart didn't have it and Ace Hardware only had black, and I would rather get clear. I may just have to order stickums.
Jcandleattic
I always get it at Walmart in clear. It's in the paint section.
