CKM44
I am wanting to buy some color for M&P swirling and other types of coloring, which is better to use mica or liquid?
Candybee
I've used both. Micas can sometimes be difficult to blend into the melted base and sometimes leave colored specks in the soap if you don't blend them thoroughly. But if you can you can get a brighter or more vivid color with some micas. What you really should be looking for are stable colorants that don't bleed or fade whether they are micas or liquid. I always had good success from TKB Trading soap non-bleeding colorants.
CKM44
thanks for the reply. Mica can be troublesome if not blended thoroughly, I already found that out. LOL I think I will stick to liquid for now, non-bleeding.
MarsBars
Prior to incorporating your mica into your soap base you can blend the micas with a small amount of glycerin or with RA. Once fully incorporated then place into your M&P base. You shouldn't have any specks this way.
