Thanks! Working on those suggestions.

So far thinking of going with:

1. bug repellent type

2. vanilla type: vanilla sandalwood? vanilla lace? tuscan lace?

3. citrus type - Yuzu?, Ginger Lime?

4. berry or mixed floral w/berry - TN has a lovely Peach, Magnolia & Raspberry

Vanilla Lace - the other two just sound too heavy for summer (never smelled them so maybe not, but just the sound of them, would make me think fall/winter scent, not spring/summer)

I LOVE floral berry mixes. I have one from I believe it was AH/RE (I'll have to look) that is a Raspberry Violet and it smells wonderful. Light floral, heavier (but not too heavy) berry - the mix is divine.

I love citrus scents in summer too, anything lime, grapefruit and/or orange would be good. I think you are on the right track.

I would probably add a water/spa type scent as well. Like an Ocean, or a dancing water (cool water) type scent also.

Yes, Tennessee's Peach Magnolia Raspberry is the only one I use, and it's so great in cp soap too!

You and I think a lot alike. I love your ideas for scents. I am rethinking the vanilla but think that a vanilla type would still be nice.

Anyone heard of lemoncello? I've seen it in a lip balm..... where? think it was EBB.... will check it out... Anyway, this morning the idea of a lemon vanilla popped into my head or at least a dominant lemon more on the sweet and sour side rather than bakery or floral.

Badedas, RE

Bamboo & Citrus, (sorry, maybe Nature's Garden?)

Volcano Calibri Blue Aztec

Forever Red, Aztec

Hmmm... don't know any of these scents. Don't shop at Aztec or NG. I've smelled a volcano scent OOB from AH that was spicy. Is that the same Volcano?

Lemon Eucalyptus is a good inscet repellant the Lemon Eucalyptus (China) from NDA lists:

Main Constituents:

Citronellal: 82.1%

It is stronger than any citronella that I have used, and very affordable too.

This is one of the EOs I have been thinking of adding to my blend. Thanks!

I did want to use catnip too as it has great insect repellent components but the price makes it unrealistic to use, Unless I want to triple the cost of my lotion! Maybe the lemon euc would make a good replacement!

Do you mind sharing where I can get it?

White Tea Leaf & Papaya (from Backwoods) LOVE!

Margarita Lime (from Wholesale Supplies) Refreshing and Love!

Pina Colada (from Tenn Candle Supplies) LOVE!

Jamaican Me Crazy (Cajun) Scream Summer too! Love!

Candybee it is at NDA (New Directions Aromatics) last time I looked it was $22 a pound. It is very strong, and can overpower other EO in a blend. If you want the lotion to smell like citronella, and want it to repell bugs, then you are good, but a fragrance oil might smell prettier.

I may be the odd one out, but I love the smell of citronella . LOL

I've also heard of lemoncello but only as a sherbert type dessert. LOL But know what it can smell like from that and think it would be an awesome summer scent!

The mango sorbet does sound good. I have been thinking of a mango type too because they are very popular.

Here is a link to the limoncello. Its at EBB and its one of their flavor oils. Can be used for body butters too so its perfect:

I'm thinking either the limoncello or a blend of coconut, lemon & vanilla sugar.

I am imagining a coconut creme/lemon meringue pie - and salivating like a mad dog LOL! I think that would be some killer soap.
