So I have some Rose Kaolin Clay

TAH

Recommended Posts

I bought some rose kaolin clay to try out in a soap, but the truth is I don't know what to do with it. I saw a cool recipe using clay and charcoal and swirling it but the recipe used melt and pour and I want to do CP.  How to add it to a soap? I don't even really know why soapers use clay in soaps. So anybody try this? Benefits? Tips?

Clay in soaps give it a nice slip, and it just feels really nice. Some people say that it will anchor EO scents as well. And you can use it for a natural coloring, but I have found in my experience, that doesn't work as well for me as it does for others.

When I use clay, I add it to my oils before my lye solution and then give that a good stick blend. I only use about 1 TBSP PPO.

i have a rose kaolin clay soap. I use a rounded tbs for a 3 1/2 lb recipe. Clay can also help oily skin. Its supposed to help draw out impurities and toxins from skin pores in masks. Not sure how effective it is in soap but clay soap is a good seller for me.

The soap appears to be successful :) . I divided the soap into two portions and put the clay into one half. I used 1tsp. Kaolin Clay ppo. The color stayed true.  I swirled it the rose clay part with the plain part. The plain part I put some TD in because I like it opaque and white. I used an herbal flower fragrance. Its just nice. So happy!
