Weekend Plans?

I think I'm actually going to make it into the soap/candle studio this weekend. Wouldn't that be nice? :D

I have a few plans, such as masterbatching some oils (yes, i know - this has been on my list FOR-EVER!!), a challenge soap, bottling up some lotions, wick some jars to make some container candles, and then possibly make some palm pillars for some more wick testing. I just cannot for the life of me get the wicking down on my palms. Grrr... LOL

What is everyone else up too?

I need to make a large batch of unscented GM soap.  I need to clear some freezer space first; it's getting warm here and I don't want to encourage a partial gel.

I also need to pour re-stock batches of 6 soy candle types and about 6 paraffin types.  Gardenia, almond, wildflower meadow, strawberry, sandalwood vanilla ... the list goes on and on.  (Too many white ones, and I only have two white pouring pots.  LOL)  Lately, I've been getting customers ordering Egg Nog, Hot Cocoa, and Christmas Tree.  Yes, you read that correctly - in SPRING.  haha  Also need to start planning and pouring for a big show that I'm doing in June.

But first up, I'm going to pour up 4 new batches of candles.  I've been testing several new ones and they are ready to roll.  Great throw, good melt pool ... all systems go.  Then if the sun ever comes out here, I'll snap some pictures for my website.  We've been in a rainy pattern for quite a few days and it's supposed to persist.  Hard to take good pics unless I have sunshine outside.

I'm already stocking soap for this weekends market. Will finish up tomorrow and pack car. (Actually everything is packed except the soap.) Market's every Saturday and next week I will be doing 2 markets a week until after Memorial Day when I start doing 3 markets a week all summer.

Sunday I usually unpack and veg-out for rest of the day. Maybe I'll do some more yardwork. Been wanting to treat my lawn to some Scott's fertilizer and dandelion and weed control stuff.  Those pesky dandelions are everywhere!!

I hear ya on the rainy pattern. It's been gloomy here for 2 weeks and they are now calling for snow on Sunday. *sigh* I hate weather!!

There is a photography class for my canon dSLR in June that I'm thinking of taking. I have got to do something or I will never learn how to use that camera.

Everyone says, just play around with it. And that's all fine and good, if I KNEW what I was playing around with... LOL I need to know WHY I'm doing what I'm doing or else it's not going to make any sense to me and I will never learn.

Anyway, I brought that up in this thread because I also bought a(nother) light box, and I'll be taking some test product shots in it this weekend. It's supposed to do wonders for product photos just using a camera phone, but I'll use my iPad and see how that works out.
