Candybee
Youch! I have a YL rep at my weekly market. These people advocate putting the oils directly on their skin attesting they won't hurt you due to their "purity". Tried to explain to her about toxicity and dilutions of oils and why you should never put the oils directly on the skin. I get this blank stare and she gave me the company diatribe about how its because those oils aren't 'pure' like YL oils. Seriously, you can't fix stupid! You know YL was cited on a buttload of wrongful biz practices and medical claims re their oils by the FDA last summer. Apparently they have not retrained their reps. moonshine
Crazy- and they are targeting massage and chiropractic centers which is insane because as you stated none of these oils should ever be used neat....and although lavender in general is safe to do so I never would- always use a carrier and as little EO As possible and know the precautions- pregnant people/ heart people/diabetics/ etcTheir raindrop technique I want to scream when I see it
Unique candles
yes, they r crazy, but you can lead a horse to the water but not make them drink, referring to people, because sometimes horses r much smarter then people reffering to yl. kandlekrazy
It's just plain sad how many times the FDA has been down on both YL and doTerra for telling people it's ok to injest their eo's.I sell eo's in my store and I also sell small bottles of FCO and if people don't want to buy it, I give them the carrier oil free. I use eo's straighton my skin but I'm very careful which ones I use, how much and how often. I have noticed that most eo's work better when in a carrier oil. Just healed a bad burn withlavender in FCO.
Guest OldGlory
According to one of my books, the "father" of aromatherapy, Gatfosse, was working in a lab, burned his hand, stuck his hand into the only container of liquid available to him (which was lavender EO), and the healing of the burn that occurred created his interest in finding other EOs that were beneficial beyond perfumery.Making claims regarding the medicinal use of an unregulated substance is opening yourself up to a lawsuit. Sonoma Roses
OMG that poor woman; they say a picture is worth a thousand words. I am so sick of these crazy YL people, they seem to target soapmakers as potential recruits, and drive me crazy. I hate being rude, but that is almost the only solution to getting them to move away from my table at a craft fair. When I ask about the FDA problems, and false claims they do usually leave me alone.I don't know why some people think that just because EO is natural, that it is all safe to use, so many can cause issues with high blood pressure, pregency and other conditions. I love using EO in soap, but I check out every new EO that I use for possible interactions.

They are way overpriced and there is no certificate of analysis or any indication of their origin or purity. Just their "say-so" that's its pure doesn't cut it... and you are right, some of those reps are so annoying at craft fairs. I just try to ignore them and show total disinterest.
