Lemongrass versus actual citrus EOs

Recommended Posts

I've seen a few suggestions that lemongrass EO sticks better in CP soap than straight-up citrus EOs. Is anyone able to confirm or deny?

I haven't yet had the opportunity to compare, so any thoughts you might have on lemon vs. lemongrass would be very interesting as well.

Muchas gracias!

Lemongrass EO really sticks for me. I've used lemon in blends with lemongrass and litsea cubeba and it seems to work really well that way for me.

I find the best citrus type EO that really sticks is lime. I love lime and lemongrass blended together. It makes an awesome fragrance for soap.

Key Lime EO is heavenly and sticks like glue!!  I also like Lemongrass better than lemon.  Unless I mix the lemon with litsea it really seems to fade on me.

Good to see you posting again Top!!  :)

I feel the same way about lime! I never, ever want to be without lime for my soaping! Its like an essential scent I must have!!

I do the same with lemon. I blend it with litsea and/or lemongrass to make it stick. I prefer lemongrass over lemon too!

I have a pink grapefruit EO I got from SMR that I am using this week to see how it works. Actually, I am combining it with EBB's Sea Island Grapefruit FO. Sometimes I combine the same FO and EO together to make the scent "pop" and smell more true.

Will let you know how I like the pink grapefruit.
