jackbenimble
Hey guys- I'm looking for a good patchouli FO that doesn't cost $42lb. I know that Leburmuth is the best but is there an alternative? How is Peaks? RE? Wish CS would get a good one. :-)
Scented
Peak isn't comparable. Once upon a time, Lonestar was a recommendation on the elusive great patch scent. Edited January 24, 2015 by Scented
jackbenimble
Could there be a second best that you'd recommend? Also what happened to Lonestar's patch? You think they changed the formula? Edited January 24, 2015 by jackbenimble
nursenancy
I've tried just about every one and the closest I came to that true earthy patch scent was the patch/cedar blend from AH. I never did test it in product though. I have not tried Lonestar's Edited January 24, 2015 by nursenancy

I've tried the Patchouli Blend before and its a good one.
nursenancy
it's cedarwood patchouli - or maybe patchouli cedarwood. I remember sniffing it OOB and being very surprised at the patch in it. I'll have to re visit that one cause I'm almost out of my MW. i seriously stocked up last time she had a pre-buy and then hoarded it for special customers. pcbrook
I use Lonestar's in my incense but found it was not very strong in my wax. But it might be good in your wax.
Candybee
Other than MW/Lebermuth's Patch the best I have found is the one from Fillmore. I've tried Peaks and its nice but light and I find I have to add patch EO to it to make it more patchy. That just isn't right. LOL But I did find Fillmore's Patch to be nice and strong and true in my candles. Of course there is no FO that can compare to a good Patch EO. Guest OldGlory
Lebermuths for sure. I am a big fan of patch and this one smells like a great patch EO.
Scented
Could there be a second best that you'd recommend? Also what happened to Lonestar's patch? You think they changed the formula? No, I just got hooked on MW's patch, which came from Lebermuth. Your other option, since the $42 bothers you, is to look at the price break for more than a pound and maybe run a coop. I'm pretty stocked though on MW patch for the time being, but others may want to get some. I think when you order more at Lebermuth the pound comes down and it would help to perhaps meet a minimum, which I think they have. Meeting that minimum though isn't hard since there are some great fragrances there. Edited January 24, 2015 by Scented
kfintoni
The Chemistry Store has a pound for under $30.00 It is Lebermuth. I was on the phone with Lebermuth the other day and they told me that if you need smaller sizes of their oils they are carried at The Chemistry Store and Bulk Apothecary. On a side note I agree that the Patch at Fillmore is great and have to say I have not found an oil that I did not like from Fillmore. I'd definitely get it then.
rctfavr3
Gemlite has a lb for under $15. Not sure on their FO or FC as they call it. Their Patch EO is killer!
jackbenimble
So I went to the chemistry store and checked out their patchouli FO. Great price! I looked at the reviews and the only one they showed was not great. Maybe they received a bad batch. Here's the link. http://m.chemistrystore.com/prodrank.cgi?sku=41617&action=view
Candybee
That link didn't work for me. I went to the site and looked up their patch FO. The description is a woody cedarwood patch. I don't think that's the one you are thinking of is it? You want the straight patch Lebermuth and MW carries right? This isn't it. Although The Chemistry Store does carry Lebermuth FOs I don't think this is the same patch you want.
ChrisR
Candle Cocoon's is good and strong - it's called Patchouli Dreams.

I tried it and it was fine for me. It was a mobile version. I'm on my phone responding. It was the Leburmuth Patch because at the bottom of the page there was the Lebermuth logo. Maybe they just recieved a bad batch. I would definitely use this for soap even from the Leburmuth site. I have read that their patch is difficult to wick so I was hoping to make a lavender patch blend to cut down on the heaviness of the oil. Chris- thank you for the CC recommendation. I'll look into that one.
Trappeur
I've always wanted to try a patchouli and never have. So if someone does a co-op I would join! Trappeur
Scented
Lebermuth has a straight patch and patch mixes, including patch-cedar ... so TCS could very well have a patch cedar
