Guest OldGlory
Fillmore, Oregon Trails or MMS - has anyone put these in 464?While we're at it ... what type of fragrance says "ZEN" to you? Bamboo types? Neroli types? Sandalwood types? I am at a loss with this request.
moonshine
Oregon trails is lovely but I use 415Zen to me is bamboo, lavenders, oranges or water scents Elements has an amazing Amazon teakwood and downpour that would fit nicely in "Zen" type fragrances- I believe the category is spa and unique fragrances
Scented
Something like zen garden at Kangaroo Blue is what makes me think of zen. I have or had a zen tea that I loved, but got that through someone else and the name escapes now ... oh wait, The Scent Works. http://kangarooblue.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_38&products_id=32 Edited January 20, 2015 by Scented
Guest OldGlory
Have either of you tried Badedas from AH/RE? It has a bamboo, slightly floral, slightly sweet scent, and it works in 464.
moonshine
I did not care for the scent- it was to floral for me but I have read a lot of people love it so it may be worth a try for you
kandlekrazy
Can't help with the Chai Tea. Bamboo & Sugarcane is kind of "zen", have a Rooibos tea that I like to burn when relaxing in a tub...my Zen time! GW used to carry a fo called Black Tea that I labeled Zen because it was perfect..not sweet at all...they discontinued it...of course. puma52
Fillmore's Creamy Chai Latte is a tea blend....I sold every candle in this scent this last Christmas season. It IS divine. Edited January 26, 2015 by puma52
Guest OldGlory
So there are 2 different types of blends for Chai Tea. One has a hint of citrus, the other is creamy. My experience with Chai tea, the kind you drink, is the creamy type. Does anyone drink the Chai type with citrus?
Guest OldGlory
Preliminary results on Chai Tea:MMS - very strong, a deep fermented tea scent, plenty of spice, minimal creaminess. Price is kind of high - $29 for 1 lb, but I think you could use 4% in soy, so it might work. It's in wax and smells pretty much like my Chai Tea beverage in a side by side comparison sniff test before burning.Candle Science - honestly, this one smells bad to me - like spoiled bad. As I have learned, my sense of smell is a bit different so I will submit a sample of it anyway. I have 2 more samples of Chai Tea coming this week, and I've located a few more. Also from Candle Science I bought Red Currant, White Tea, and Lemon Verbena. OOB, the Red Currant is very similar to the famous brand. I blended it with something citrusy and I like it a lot. White Tea is deep and layered and I have used it in a blend I will offer as a different sort of Zen (the other one is bamboo and florals). It adds a nice middle/base note in blends. The Lemon Verbena smells like Lemon Pledge.
Guest OldGlory
Some feedback from my client - CS cinnamon chai tea "smells exactly like chai tea". I drink chai tea twice a day at least and I couldn't smell the candle. That the least expensive of all the chais I tried, so yippeee! Candybee
I brew chai tea and add cream and sugar. It's very spicy and cinnamon is definitely a strong spice in the tea.I have not seen any citrus chai tea? It may be that some people prefer orange peel in their tea and drink without the cream. I may give the one from Fillmore a try. I prefer the 'creamy' type. Have you ever bought a premixed chai tea with added cream? You just put in your refridgerator and chill it. You drink it the same like ice coffee. Its divine! Forget who makes it but every now and then I buy a carton for myself. Guest OldGlory
I have seen that at the grocery store but haven't tried it Candybee. I am a huge fan of iced tea in the warmer months so I'll check it out.
