beckemmons
Trying to pick new paraffin wax's out to play with for pillars, votives and melt but having trouble deciding. To bad I am not rich enough to just buy them all! Any help will be greatly appreciated. I just can't decide. Will to buy up to 4 to test but just don't know where to start. Already have 4794 though. Chefmom
4625 is a great starter for pillars etc. I use it as my base and then I mix it with other waxes to do other things, like if I want it a more solid color white I add stearic to it, I mix it with beeswax for pillars, and mix it with a container wax for votives etc. It's a great all around pillar wax that can be used straight up as well.
Guest OldGlory
I seem to keep going back to 1343, 1274, and 4625.1343 seem to be the most adaptive, you can get a lot of different looks with it, and you can use additives if you want for mottling1274 is a mottling wax and I just love that4625 gives me a very polished lookI think (but please verify yourself) that 1343 and 1274 allow for a 3% FO load, but 4625 is higher. These are all pillar or votive waxes. beckemmons
I have used the 1343 before, forgot to mention that. I like it, just wanting to try some different things and see what the results are. I have read great things about the 4625 so I am sure that is one I will try to play with. Thank you! bmwnfun
There's basically two options here. Either you can keep different waxes for different purposes, or use a wax with little to no additives (like the IGI 1343) and keep addtives on hand to make your different blends, or keep several different pre-blended waxes on hand. Myself, I keep 4625 and 4627, as well as a few additives on hand, and mix the two depending on which type of candles being made. Covers everything from hurricane shells to super soft container candles.
beckemmons
I love the 4627 for my containers and for mixing to soften other waxes. I just feel like I need to try more incase I find something I love even more. My husband say's I have a problem lol.

beckemmons
I have a pound of palm I still yet have to play with. Just haven't got around to it yet. I am afraid I will fall in love with it and there will be something else to add to the list of needs bought...
