grama
Guess title is OK! Have any of you ever weighed yourcarton of wax to see if you are actually getting 60lbs? I never had until I opened carton of 4786 today and the top slab I knew wouldn't weigh 10lbs. After weighing all 6 slabs I come up with 57lbs. Is it worth mentioning to supplier about? I got this from Aztec, that is where I have started ordering my wax except for the 4625 which I get from The Flaming Candle Co on GA. Just don't want to sound petty over about 3 lbs. Vicky_CO
I never thought about either I would sent a email and let them know that it was short. I know it does not seem like much but if that happen to everyone that is a lot of money over time.
grama
That is true Vicky. I wouldn't have weighed if not the 1st slab was shorter than the others and then another slab was not a full slab. I just don't want to sound petty, kwim! ChrisR
I've weighed a couple times in the past and actually gotten more than the 55 lbs. by 6 lbs. once and 3 lbs. the other time. I did get 2 lbs. less on one box, but figured it all worked out over the various orders.
Guest OldGlory
Yes, it happens to me all the time with 6006. The net weight is stamped on the side, sometimes under, sometimes over. Same with the Fresh Orange FO that I get from them - it's always short.I know the wax will even out. I have mentioned the issue with the FO and they gave me an ounce but I don't bother any more because I make out well with the free ounces with purchase of a larger bottle.I would mention it when you order next time. That is a loss of a few candles!
Jcandleattic
For me personally it wouldn't be worth it to mention, but as others have said, sometimes it's over and sometimes under, but never really a significant amount either way (usually less than 5lbs one way or the other). I know a lot of times the suppliers just resale the cases they get from the manufacturer, so I have always looked at those weights as an "estimate". However, due to accounting and wanting to get the best "bang" for my buck and charge the right amount retail and wholesale I always weigh my wax as soon as I get it from the supplier so I know exactly what I paid per pound. Scented
See to me it's worth mentioning even if they are reselling. They ought to know too. We weigh everything except by slabs. A lot of what we're getting in our cases of 1343 are slabs that are half hollow, but our weights are for the case are coming in where they should. I wonder if they're using thicker cardboard to cover it up ... makes me suspicious a lot, but practically every order we get (no matter from where) is under weight. puma52
I get all my waxes from Aztec too. Sometimes that top slab looks a little puny (melted down somewhat and I can see the wax spot on the box sometimes), but you can tell that it is because it has gotten hot either in the delivery truck or Aztec's warehouse. That to me is a fault of no ones ...just a natural occurrence in this type of business and I would blame no one for it:). I have not ever weighed my boxes of wax, but my back tells me that there is a heck of a lot of wax in there and it makes me smile.
