Steve6367
Just getting in the candle business, wanting to use 12oz Status jars but am having adhesion problems at the base of the jar. Anyone else?
ChrisR
I've used that jar for many, many years and never had an adhesion problem, so it's probably a wax issue.
Vernie1
Hi Steve6367, Like ChrisR said it's probably a wax issue. Maybe it's not being heated high enough or maybe the jar needs to be warmed before pouring. If you don't mind sharing, what type of wax are you using? Steve6367
Thanks Chris and Vernie for the replies. I am using IGI 4630. I have poured at temps of 170 and 160 and I have warmed the containers as well.
ChandlerWicks
What is this discoloration at the bottom of the waxStarted by Azsunset, Jul 19 2014 05:03 PM Does it look like the pic in the above post? I'll try to get a link for it. Sorry I can't link the post! Maybe try covering the jars with a box while they are cooling? http://www.craftserver.com/topic/105139-what-is-this-discoloration-at-the-bottom-of-the-wax/?view=findpost&p=985639 I figured it out! Woo Hoo, I'm just so smart! Edited July 27, 2014 by ChandlerWicks
Vernie1
You're welcome. I have used IGI4630 wax but not the status jars. This was is easy to work with and has good adhesion to jars. You can try increasing your pour temp by 5 degrees and try heating the jars maybe a little longer. One thing I know about this wax is the temperature will drop quickly once it's removed from the heat source. HTH
