annie123
What is the big deal with Scentsy warmers? A potential customer asked me if my tart melts would work in her Scentsy warmers. I have ever tested my tart melts in a Scentsy warmer but I really do not see why it wouldn't work.
justajesuschick
They will work just fine. I have 3 full sized Scentsy warmers. I am venturing a guess here but I have heard that using wax other than their in their warmers will void the warranty on their warmers. I have not been able to find this on their website but it may be on the printed materials that came with the warmer. Very fine print! SuzyK
That is my most common question. I just tell them mine work fine in a scentsy warmer.
jenn624
The reps are also usually trained to tell customers that no other tart melts will work in their warmers. It's a ploy to make sure people keep coming back for more Scentsy. My melts work just fine in Scentsy's warmers. I'm sure your's will too.
Dolphin146
Mine melt just fine in there warmers. I own one and use it to test my melts in. I also own several others including one that uses tealights to melt the wax.
candlebug
I get this question all the time and tell the customer...I test all my melts in a Scentsy warmer and they work just fine. It is Scentsy propaganda, lol
redraider
If not for people with Scentsy warmers I wouldn't sell any wax melts. I get asked this all the time and tell them 90% of my customers have Scentsy warmers. The only time I really sell my own warmers are when I order them in the fall for the 1 week show I do.
Bfly
I test in Scentsy warmers too. I have used other waxes in it as well, only issue is when you use a harder wax it does get hung up on the sides and sometimes the corners don't melt all the way, but nothing major. Personally, I prefer their warmers, the selection is great, but they are more expensive.

beaubien81
Scentsy also markets on their site that soy wax warms into the walls of your home, and that is the reason they don't use soy.I've warmed my tarts for DAYS in hopes to see the wax evaporate to support their claims. No luck. Anyone else aggree?
marcuset
They are genius marketers...they know how to sell - I give them that. Will say they have beautiful electric melters - never cared for their melts. Soy in the walls, huh? Whatever.

I am too curious!I did find the "why" they do not use soy wax which, as we know, is not an accurate claim. MANY here make soy melts that are outstanding (and superior to Scentsy's). http://scentsy.com/newsroom/faq.aspx#34Would love to know where this 'into the walls" claim is on their site!the
annie123
So, I bought a used Scentsy warmer on ebay, the cheapest I could find. I think it is a combination of excellent marketing and customers' ignorance how else would people pay these outrageous prices.By the way I just love the Made in China on their web site. What they say about soy not making for good melts is, of course, preposterous! I still want to see this "soy goes into the walls" statement. beaubien81
Found part of it. I swear their FAQ used to say soy evaporated into the air, walls, etc... here the CEO alludes to the wax going INTO the air. What Kind of Wax Does Scentsy Use and Why?Exerepts taken from Official Scentsy Statement by CEO Orville Thompson originally dated 2/10/2006"The issue of the type of wax we use is a non-issue, with regard to the chemicals released while burning, because we only warm the scent out of the wax–the wax remains in the warmer. I would rather have a petroleum wax in a warmer than a soy wax dispersed into the air of my home. With Scentsy we practice “safer scents” – we abstain from wicks!" Beth
I did find this on a rep's website... maybe this is the "wall" thing? The most common concern with “burning” petroleum vs. vegetable waxes have gone on for years and Scentsy have finally been able to step up and think outside the box. Rather than burn the wax and polluting the air, walls or furniture Scentsy warmers heat up the wax to your natural body heat to release the scent out of the wax leaving the wax in the warmer. The issue of what type of wax burns cleaner is not an issue and if ever asked I am always quick to tell our customers that Scentsy wax is just there to hold the scent and release it. Scentsy has invested millions to create the most efficient wax that won’t get to hot and is safer than any Soy or Vegetable candle. I would rather have a Petroleum based wax in a warmer than having a soy wax candle dispersed into my house or lungs any day. What does "heat up the wax to your natural body heat" mean?? beaubien81
One of my friends is Scentsy consultant and asked to try one of our petals....After I gave it to her she said, "this isn't going to evaporate into my walls, is it?"It has to be in their training materials somewhere because I get asked that often.Like I said, I tried to get it into my walls.... no luck. Not losing ANY volume in the wax after scenting for a long time.
franu61
About a year ago a scentsy rep saw that I had soy candles and melts and she told me " I love Scentsy they are made from soy" ? ?? Have they always been paraffin? Do the reps even KNOW, lol

Maybe it's just me but I thought wax heated up according to what is heating it. Whether it be a flame, a Scentsy 15-25 watt bulb warmer, a Scentsational 25 watt bulb warmer or a plate warmer. So then, they have a built-in safeguard to keep the wax from getting too hot it appears they are claiming. I'm all for marketing techniques but unless I'm missing something this could be a false claim. Being nice...wanted to say lie.
justajesuschick
IMAGINE what each consultant who has just a sliver of information can set up and say on their own facebook page or website-and then what they share with those they sign up and so on? jennifer
I had a major run in with a Scentsy rep at a craft show once. She told me I needed to tell my customer's that Scentsy does not recommend using any other wax in their warmers if they asked if my melts worked in Scentsy warmers. It turned out a little funny. She made such a jerk of herself that the promoter of the show bought from me
