  1. Unfortunately I don't sculpt at all & know of no one who does. I also have no idea what size this piece is. I continue searching but continue to come up empty.
  2. Thank you HTH ... I'll check there : ) Blessings, Shirlee
  3. Now that the fall/winter season isn't too far ahead of us I am back to planning to make tarts & other wax items. I saw this item on someone's blog the other day (she had made it) & wrote to ask her where she bought the mold but guess what ... no response. I'm not looking to mass produce these things for sale on Etsy or something ... I just want to make a few for my friend's craft sales this fall. Does anyone know where this mold ... & others like it ... are being sold? I hope the photo isn't too small to see. It's an ABC 123 sampler with a log cabin on it. It is made of beeswax. My everlasting thanks to whoever can point me in the direction of this mold : ) Blessings, Shirlee
  4. Just the ones I sent to you Ravens ... Country Gift Shop (KY) & Home for the Holidays (Peak). I did try 2 others the other day ... Warm & Cozy (KY) & Cinnamon Balsam (Peak) but they aren't cured enough to test yet. I think I need to learn to buy sample sizes of FOs instead of 8 ounces or more in case I run into this problem again ... which I'm sure I will. Now that the Mountain Pine has been in the burner for a couple of hours, I can smell something when I'm in the vacinity of the burner but nowhere else. Sigh! I will press on toward another success down the road. Blessings, Shirlee
  5. After basking in the joy & fragrance of my Zucchini Bread tart success yesterday, I popped in a Mountain Pine (Peak FO) today expecting to have to open all my windows after a while because the cold throw was so very strong. (Both the Zucchini Bread & the Mountain Pine were made at the same time & cured the same amount of time.) The tart has been in the burner now for an hour & I don't smell a thing. Can someone please explain to me how this happens? I'm using the same wax, the same amount of wax, the same melt point, the same amount of FO, the same molds, the same cure time, yet one tart is successful & the other is a dud. I just don't understand how this happens Blessings, Shirlee
  6. I can't believe it! After time after time of trying again & again with 3 different types of wax ... I FINALLY have a tart that pleases me! Most of the ones I've made didn't smell at all. Some were very faint. Others were pleasant enough within an 18' radius or so but they didn't waft throughout the house like ones I purchase from a supplier online & that has been my goal ... to have my tarts scent like hers. Well, this morning ... EUREKA! This past Sunday I made a batch of tarts using KY parasoy & a KY FO, Zucchini Bread. I decided to pop one into the burner when I got up this morning & it wasn't even half melted yet & the fragrance was traveling like mad! And it's not one of those "burns your eyes, burns your nose, quick - shut off the burner & put it outside" kind of scents ... it's wonderful! Smells like a bakery in here! Oh, happy happy day If nothing else, I'll be known as the lady who sells nothing but Zucchini Bread tarts ...lol! Blessings, Shirlee
  7. Thank you both very much! Blessings, Shirlee
  8. I need to find a source for a good burgundy or reddish brown dye. I prefer liquid but have used flakes so I'm not opposed to those. Blessings, Shirlee
  9. I like working with the KY wax. I like that it comes in a bead-type form so I just have to scoop it out to measure it instead of cutting up a slab. I find that it's very creamy & cleans up easily out of my pour pot. It also pops neatly out of my tart burner when it melts & hardens again. I tried the Country Gift Shop 3-1/2 days after I made it. It had a nice fragrance but not as strong as I had hoped. I decided maybe I need to let my tarts cure a bit longer. As of today they've been curing for 7 days. I meant to re-try the CGS today but there was too much else going on so hopefully tomorrow. Blessings, Shirlee
  10. Hi Mary! Good to hear from you! I've not tried the Country Berry Hotcakes but it sounds good! I think the Peak fragrances are my favorites : ) Blessings, Shirlee
  11. If anyone sells candles with an amazing throw of a true fireplace scent (wood crackling in the fireplace), please PM me as I'd like to buy a couple. Blessings, Shirlee
  12. Well, I can tell you that Vickey said I picked out some great scents & mentioned the Country Gift Shop in particular. Said she loves that one. However, I made it right after I made the Home for the Holidays tarts so I wasn't able to really separate the two scents very well. I'll be able to tell you more when I melt some on Saturday. I'll melt those ones first. I also got another one that Vickey said she loves ... Zucchini Bread. I'll probably try that one next. Blessings, Shirlee
  13. It's now 9:30 & I finished pouring a second batch, this time trying KY's Country Gift Shop FO. This is fun ... lol! Hopefully I'm not going to crash & burn on Saturday when I can try these :smiley2: Blessings, Shirlee
  14. Okay, okay ... I couldn't stand it anymore. It's almost 9 pm but I've got some parasoy slowly melting & I'm going to try it with a Peak scent, Home for the Holidays. How exciting!!! Blessings, Shirlee
