  1. Looking for a beautiful lavender and rose, if such exists. If you've combined two separate scents I'd love to hear recommendations for the best two to use. Not selling; just personal use. Thanks, peeps!
  2. TallTayl, the things you summarized there, that I had been reading over those years were creeping up on us, is a huge part of why I've pretty much given up on this hobby and y'all don't see me around here as much as used to. It was always a hobby that would've been nice if it had turned into a business for me, but I started seeing all that going on before I got to a business stage so I gave up. I really hate it for all of you that have a bigger investment in it.
  3. No, I did not know about Buy It Ship It. Thank you so much for that tip about that and the other two places! Have you tried any of their FOs?
  4. They used to be the rock bottom least expensive, next to Bert's Heaven Scent, and there were a few standouts from them. I remember their sandalwood & vanilla was widely lauded on here, for instance. How are they now, as I'm sure every single FO there has been reformulated to probably a shadow of its former self? I'm about to order aroma beads from there to make car scent thingies, and of course I'm not going to be able to resist an FO or 20.... https://www.candlesandsupplies.com/
  5. I've been spending a small fortune on Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla leave-in conditioner, and just remembered that I have a gallon of this EBC Hydrating Base and it's good on hair too. Yeah, baby! 🙌
  6. OMGosh, thank you so much, Kris! I had not realized that. So much has changed since I started this hobby a decade and a half ago, and I can't keep up with all of it.
  7. Peak's Amish Harvest was one of my favorites for this time of year, and their lavender. Are those at Keystone or Scentsational?
  8. I miss Bert's Heaven Scent, Peak, Scent Works, and now I went to order from Day-Star the other day and she is once again closed for a while on top of having many things out of stock. 😪 I think an email I got after that said she was closed until sometime in October.
  9. Gosh, I hate to hear this. That had been my favorite wax for yeeeeeears. I might run out of the last of my stock when I start making holiday candles, so now I'm worried about that. 😟 Might be time to let candle-making go and stick with tarts......
  10. i see a couple of blending ideas already mentioned above, so I'm going to piggyback here and ask for what other scents you all like to blend with tobacco FOs? I have loved the few tobacco scents I've ever sniffed so I'm up for experimenting. WSP's is on sale right now, I'm placing an order there for other FOs, so I want to get a small bottle of their tobacco.
  11. I'm out of Bramble Berry Lavender Chamomile Huggies type FO which I loved (not sure if it's changed now though; my bottle was several years old) and before I buy another I thought I'd get some input. I'm not using this on babies or in products to use on babies; this is 100% for me or if I make something to gift to friends (other adults). So what baby item type of scent are you enjoying these days? And if you've bought the one from Bramble Berry lately, what do you think of it now? https://www.brambleberry.com/shop-by-product/ingredients/fragrance-oils/lavender-chamomile-huggies-type-fragrance-oil/V000345.html?cgid=3-fo_ing_pro#prefn1=FOScentFamily&prefv1=Floral&start=37&sz=12
  12. Years ago I had a perfume that was chocolate and roses that I just knew was going to be yuck, but I ended up absolutely loving it. I want this more for perfume / b&b but it's probably great in candles too. What do you think, and do you have any suggestions? Or recommendations on a few to blend? Here are the notes from that perfume I loved so much: Chocolate/cocoa Rose Amber Musk
  13. @Candybee along that train of thought, I often will make votives in different scents, then burn one in different areas of the room. So you get the combined whole at times, but also the whiffs of the individual scents too, depending on how air currents are flowing. So I was thinking of making some Sugared Spruce, and then a couple others in cedar, pine, whatever. I like your idea of adding a berry but would love to find elderberry. If I can't find that, I may add one blackberry one somewhere in the room and then a couple of those evergreen types.
  14. This is for after Christmas, after I'm exhausted of all the cloves & oranges & wassail scents. I want it to smell like where elves and unicorns and Santa Claus and all those guys live. Preferably from WSP because they're generally my favorite supplier, but I'm open to any suggestions. Blends too, that you've come across or invented that give that ambiance. So what are your picks for mystical, magical Winter woods?
  15. If you generally like the scent, ignore the manufacturer's name and call it whatever you want. A "cheap candy" scent can become "Hard Candy Christmas". Or "Sticky Fingers". Or "Cotton Candy Clouds". Or "Rug Rats Run Amok".
  16. I'm looking particularly for ginger right now, with no other notes (if possible), and hopefully safe for use on skin but I'm also looking for use in candles too. I have some Orange Ginger from WSP but I want to make it more gingery, but other than that I want to mix some with plain vanilla and see how it goes. Other than ginger, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom, what other yummy spice FOs are out there?
  17. Ooooooo, I want to hear more about this Bulk Apothecary Blue Musk! I've avoided BA because I've seen quite a many negative comments about them. But anything "musk" gets my attention. Please do fill us in on more thoughts about it as you test with that.
  18. Badedas smells blue to me. I think my bottle is from RE/AH. WSP Waterlily & Bluebell https://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/products/waterlily-bluebell-fragrance-oil.aspx While you're at WSP, have a look in the "Beach, Ocean, Rain, & Air" section to stimulate some ideas: https://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/fragrance-oils/search/rain-ocean.aspx Also search on just the word "blue" there and you may get some other interesting FOs (Frosted Blue Balls, Blue Agave Sugar, Blue Mist, etc.) There's been some discussion on here of Just Scent's version of Jo Malone's Wild Bluebell but I also saw some not-great comments about it, so I haven't tried it yet. Maybe some who have will chime in here.
  19. https://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/special-sales/deep-discounts/weekend-specials.aspx If you want to see just FOs, scroll down, look to the left, and check the box for those.
  20. Can anyone add to the recommendations above? NG has a sample sale going on now and I fully plan to indulge! (Edit: doesn't include all their scents, but some Fall, candy, and bakery scents that we're all looking at now are included.)
  21. A while back, I went to look up an order I had placed with them and then realized I had ordered as a guest before I did the whole make-an-account thing. Are you sure you didn't check out as a guest that time? I hate to hear this, because I've ordered quite a few times from WSP (not their new acquisitions) and I've never had a problem. I do hate that stupid handling fee; that makes it NOT free shipping, no matter how they try to play with semantics. And they're high $ so I wait for good sales. But those are complaints unrelated to ordering.
  22. A Fall favorite of mine that nobody else ever seems to associate with that time is orange ginger (like the B&BW aromatherapy one). Ginger is a great warm, Autumnal spice, and the orange brings to mind the pomanders that are always around during the holidays. Orange clove is another. I haven't bought either in a while so I would love to hear from you all what's available and good now in those scents. Hansel & Gretel's House is another favorite, but it's probably been reformulated so I don't know how good it is now; I think the sweets aspect puts me in mind of Halloween candy, and the witchiness implied with the name. A lot of candy scents, for that matter, get associated with Fall in my head. Candy corn and others. Witches Brew, too, so I'm hoping some of you can suggest good ones now. I will be following this thread closely to get all your apple, pumpkin, candy, spice, Witches Brew, etc. recs!
  23. It could be that JS was the original source for yours, they've just reformulated now. A lot of reformulations are turning out way weaker than previous ones (unfortunately).
  24. I posted in the EO forum that I'm looking for a tiare absolute or EO or similar, but a fragrance oil would be awesome too. Do you guys have any recommendations for tropical floral types of FOs? Bonus points if it's skin-safe.
