  1. Thank you for the wonderful suggestions. Now I have to try to stay within my budget!
  2. I'm putting in a FO order with Rustic Escentuals when I get home this evening. I have a little extra for samples and would love some suggestions. Thanks.
  3. My sister wants me to make her a candle that smells like sunshine. But not too grassy or flowery. Any suggestions? Much appreciated.
  4. Thanks. I'm pouring HTP testers tonight. Also first burn on CD testers tonight. Fingers crossed.
  5. 3.5" diameter. A puzzle for me is that it just barely makes a full pool, and yet has several signs of being over wicked. (Mushrooming, soot, large flame)
  6. Thanks. I was afraid of that. This was the second burn on a 16 oz Salsa Jar. IGI 4630 from The Candlemakers Store. 6% Apples and Maple Bourbon from CandleScience. And a little Evo 11 Red dye from CandleWic. The wick is LX 24. The silver lining is, I get to pour more wax today! Thank you for enlightening me.
  7. Is this what mushrooming looks like, or is this the "self-trimming" that LX wicks are supposed to do?
  8. Oh, nice. I have a sample pack of CD wicks. Which size should I try first?
  9. I would love to see that also. I'm not up to that level of proficiency yet, but it never hurts to plan ahead. 😀
  10. How do you decide between double wicking and using a larger wick? Is there a generally accepted guideline on double wicks? Are there benefits and detriments between single and double wicks? I'm trying to wick the Large Salsa Jar from CS. (3.5" diameter, 4.5" height) Using IGI 4630 wax and going through the LX wick line at the moment. Any help/insight is greatly appreciated.
  11. Thank you very much. I think that might be exactly what I'm looking for.
  12. Hi, I'm just beginning to begin candle making. I want to make container candles in apothecary jars with flat black metal lids. I've searched this site, poked around reddit, and scoured every supplier I could find, but no luck. No problem finding apothecary jars, but flat black metal lids aren't anywhere I've looked. It vexes me. Please, could anyone point me in the right direction? Even a stylistically comparable alternative would ease my vaguely panicky soul. From everything I've read so far, this seems like a great community. Thank you.
