  1. Thanks for the response! Is that soot bad to breathe in then? I really like the "A clam & relaxing place". It is just for hobby. But I thought about selling them (I doubt I could live off of that alone though). I will have to look into this candle tour, thanks!
  2. I guess what I am getting at is a decent recipe (right wick size, which specific wax to use, which specific company fragrance, etc.) not to copy-cat Yankee Candles (that would be nice to match some of their scents), but to make what I thought was a decent candle like theirs. For example, I've noticed they always burn all of the way around, and that the scent puts off very well. If anyone has any specific tutorials that could help me out in this realm, that would be helpful.
  3. I love Yankee Candles, and am curious if anyone has developed a similar way to make a product like theirs? I am not sure if there is a tutorial out there, but it would be awesome if it had everything from the wick, to the scent, to the wax used.
  4. I am using soy wax. I've attached an image of what I have been experiencing. What is C3? What are some additives that you would recommend? I would like to avoid Paraffin at all costs (REF: https://essentials.banyantree.com/blogs/blog/no-love-for-paraffin-wax). As I am new to this, what would a bad wick look like, when it burns?
  5. I recently made some candles, and they didn't turn out the way I thought they would, so I am here trying to get some suggestions! I know one of my issues, is that the wick is not large enough.
  6. That doesn't seem like a lot. How are these amounts determined? Is it for human safety, since it would be applied to the skin directly?
  7. I bought some essential oils, and was wondering if there is a limit (or if I can use them at all) in body lotions and candles? Here is the product that I purchased: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J8O18TQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  8. I bought some fragrances, and wanted to make candles and body lotions from them, but was wondering: a) If I can use these fragrances in the products, and b) How much of it can I have in them? Is there anything else I need to take into consideration? From this picture, for the lotions, it says 1.07%. What does this mean? Does this mean, of the total product, only 1.07% can be fragrance, at max?
  9. Hmmm, ok. Not sure what to do with the big bag of wax I have right now Any ideas/recommendations?
  10. Where do you recommend purchasing wicks/wax from? Is more additive bad, impeding the throw? I have not asked them, but I will.
  11. It tunnels all the way down. What would be one wick size up?
