  1. In all of my testing, yes, the 415 has a tendency to look like cottage cheese after it has burned and cooled. I talked with Phil - I think that was his name - from VA Candle Supplies and he says that it's normal and proves it is a natural product. I'm sure someone else will chime in here. Maybe there are some additives that you could add to the wax to enhance its appearance, I'm not really sure. I just have learned to embrace soy and all of its "wonders". LOL
  2. Could anyone that has experience help me out with premier wicking? I am trying to wick an 8 oz jj with c3 wax - 7% fragrance oil and 2 dye chips per lb. I have tried 750 -not big enough no full melt pool by 3rd burn. 755 same as 750. 760 not too much better but ok. I like the way the 765 burns but I did test the 767 and it was way too hot and mushrooming really bad. Is 765 about right??
  3. You guys are surely right about the note taking. Looked through some old forums and notes and low and behold I tested some of those fragrances before and had no luck...so why in the world did I test those again???? I dunno is the bast answer that I can give. I am retesting c3 wax again and hopefully I'll have better luck this time.
  4. Tonight I poured in C3 wax - Tangerine and Peach from Candlewic and Fillmore Cranberry Citrus at 7%. I used dye chips for both applications. Trying to wick this in an 8 oz jelly jar. I tried the Premier wicks in the past and they were so/so. Tried Eco wicks and they would always flop right over into my wax no matter what size I used. CDs are ok but I get a lot of soot with those. CD 10 seems to be the best fit. I used to use cotton core wicks with my 415. I just purchased some 51-32-18 Paper core wicks from Candles and Supplies on my last visit. May give them a try. Can anyone offer any other insight? I really liked the ecos and wanted them to work but it just isn't going to happen. The premier wicks I never felt like I found the right combo. 765 was too big and so was 767. 760 was not producing a great melt pool and neither did 755. Thank you in advance for any help that you can provide me. This cranberry citrus screams "The Holidays are Coming"....I love absolutely love it.
  5. I, too, took part of this sale. I only ordered some of the KY fragrance oils that I just love. Birthday Cake, Cherries n Chestnuts, Lemon Pound Cake, Pearberry, Sweet Potato Spice, Strawberry Rhubarb, Sugar Cookie, Pumpkin Pie, Peach Pie, Mulberry - HI type, Island Mango, Icy Peppermint, Apple Clove Butter, Apple Jack n Peel, Cinnamon Red Hot, Coconut Cream Pie, Homemade Apple Pie, MacApple, Plumberry Spice and Vanilla Lime. Some of these are new to me but I just love the KY Birthday Cake, Lemon Pound Cake and Pearberry.
  6. I didn't care for their version of Monkey Farts but their Mac Apple and Black Raspberry Vanilla are great. Their fast shipping is awesome and so is their customer service.
  7. I did try their Japanese Cherry Blossom and didn't really care for it. Unless I add 9% of fragrance oil, I struggle with Iced Lemon Biscotti but no one else seems to. Not really sure why that is. I will tell you though that I love their Cranberry Citrus and their Sweet Orange and Chili Pepper in C3 wax. :-)
  8. 415 wax 8 oz jj cd wick 1 ounce per lb 1 dye chip per lb Day 6 - Burn # 1 -- Full melt pool, no mushrooming of the wick, scent throw strong in large bedroom it was burning in and through part of the dining room. Melt pool was not more than 1/4" inch deep. Very happy with the burn. I bet it will get stronger as it cures longer.
  9. Moonstar I used a Premier 760 and it was plenty hot enough.
  10. Candybee, no I haven't tried another wick. I didn't attach the wick at the bottom, so I may yank it out and put in the next size lowest wick. Thank you for the suggestion. :-)
  11. Awe those were sweet words of encouragement. I promise you I won't give up. Thank you so very much. ?
  12. c3 wax 8 oz jj 767 premier wick 7% fragrance oil cured 11 days Barely any throw on test burn #1 and #2. :-(
  13. Wick - Premier - 760 - which had a great melt pool but the flame was huge on both burns 8 oz jj no color 7% in C3 wax Cured 2 weeks This candle had absolutely no scent throw at all for me. :-(
  14. Faerywren - I will be honest soy will drive you crazy or at least it is driving me bonkers. I am having some scents throw excellent and some not at all. I have Cranberry Marmalade curing in some palm wax and some 6006 as we speak and I'm looking forward to reporting back with my results. Thank you for your support. :-)
  15. Thank you Vicky_co - I sure will. I'll be honest...I want to stay with all soy; however, I have only made the palm candle, the parasoy and the 415 wax so far....and I have to say that the palm wax and the parasoy have a better cold throw than the 415.... I guess we will wait and see what happens.
